Pruning Season Needs to Happen ๐ฑ
There are seasons in leadership when you want to give up.
Seasons where you question yourself quietly.
Seasons where your heart gets tired even when your smile still shows up.
Seasons where you give your best, pour into people genuinely, sacrifice your time, energy, emotionsโฆ yet things still donโt go the way you prayed for.
This is what they call the pruning season.
And pruning season in leadership is painful.
Not everyone will stay.
Not every person you helped will understand you.
Not every plan will work the way you expected.
Not every effort will immediately produce results.
And not every season will feel rewarding.
Sometimes you lose people you thought would stay forever.
Sometimes support becomes smaller.
Sometimes the vision gets heavier.
Sometimes you become misunderstood for simply trying to lead well.
But just like a tree, pruning is not meant to destroy it.
The cutting is not punishment.
It is preparation.
A tree is pruned so unhealthy branches can be removed. So dead weight no longer steals nutrients from the parts that are meant to grow. So it can become healthier, stronger, and more fruitful in the next season.
Ganun din sa leadership.
Sometimes God removes distractions.
Sometimes He removes pride quietly hidden in success.
Sometimes He removes unhealthy attachments, wrong habits, comfort zones, toxic environments, and even toxic people not because He wants to hurt you, but because He wants to protect the leader you are becoming.
Because growth is not always addition.
Sometimes growth looks like reduction first.
And honestly? The pruning season can feel lonely.
You will cry over things people never knew affected you.
You will continue leading while healing.
You will continue encouraging others while fighting silent battles inside you.
But one day, you will realize that the season that almost broke youโฆ was also the season that built your character the most.
Pruning teaches leaders humility.
It teaches patience.
It teaches discernment.
It teaches emotional maturity.
It teaches you how to lead with both wisdom and heart.
And maybe thatโs why some of the strongest leaders carry such gentle hearts because pain taught them how to become softer, wiser, and more understanding toward people.
So if you are currently in your pruning season, donโt lose heart.
Maybe God is not removing things to empty your life.
Maybe He is creating room for healthier growth.
For deeper character.
For better relationships.
For clearer purpose.
For greater fruitfulness.
Some seasons are for blooming.
Some seasons are for planting.
And some seasons are for pruning.
But all seasons have purpose. ๐ฑ
And sometimes, what feels like a setback is actually God giving you a clearer perspective.
There are moments when you question your decisions, your direction, and even the people around you. But leadership has taught me that not every season is meant for growth that everyone can see.
And today, after our Tasmania trip and after having meaningful conversations with several top-performing advisors and managers, I have a better understanding of whatโs happening. I can now see things from a different perspective, and I know that this season is calling me to reorganize, restructure, and rebuild.
Pruning is never comfortable. It requires honest evaluation, difficult decisions, and the courage to let go of what no longer supports the vision.
But every healthy tree needs pruning before it can grow stronger and bear more fruit.
Thank You, Lord, for the unending strength, wisdom, and courage. Continue to guide my heart and mind as I make decisions that will strengthen our team and prepare us for the next level of growth.
Sometimes growth isnโt about adding or maintaining more people. Sometimes itโs about letting go, creating alignment, and surrounding yourself with the right people who share the same vision, values, and commitment to growth. Not everyone is meant to stay in every season, and thatโs okay.
Leadership requires the wisdom to recognize who is helping build the future and the courage to make difficult decisions when alignment no longer exists.
Because at the end of the day, a united team moving in the same direction will always be more powerful than a larger team moving in different directions. ๐ฑ
The pruning season is not a sign that something is dying. Itโs a sign that something stronger is being prepared. โ๏ธ
