MG just dropped the new MG 07 fastback at the Chengdu Auto Show, and it’s clearly aiming to disrupt the mid-size sedan market. Starting at a promo price of just 105,900 yuan (approximately PhP 972,000), this sleek four-door is priced to sell. It looks sharp, too. With a Porsche Taycan-style silhouette, frameless doors, and an electric rear spoiler, it definitely punches above its price tag in the looks department. Buyers can choose between a pure EV or a plug-in hybrid. The EV is built on an 800V platform that delivers up to 845 km of range and ultra-fast charging, while the PHEV model offers a pure electric range of 245 kilometers based on China's CLTC testing cycle that stretches total range to a massive 1,745 km.
The MG 07 introduces a tech-heavy, digital cockpit anchored by a massive 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s high-performance 8295P processor. Passengers are treated to an immersive 21-speaker premium audio system and an ultra-comfortable "zero-gravity" front passenger seat. Most notably, the MG 07 marks a tech milestone as the brand's very first vehicle to implement an advanced LiDAR-based system, relying on Momenta’s R7 smart driving software and a custom AI chip to support top-tier autonomous navigation and safety features.
With over 21,000 reservations secured within its initial pre-sale hours, expect to see these hitting roads in China very soon.
