SOSIA Ties with BSMAP to Strengthen Education on Bank Security
CAMP CRAME, QUEZON CITY – The Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA), through its Security Training Management Division (STMD) and in partnership with the Bank Security Management Association of the Philippines, Inc. (BSMAP), is set to conduct a Training of Trainers (TOT) on July 11, 2026 at the Bulwagang Lapulapu, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame in Quezon City.
Amidst the demand on trainers with knowledge on bank security operations, the specialized training aims to enhance the competencies of training instructors from various Private Security Training Agencies (PSTAs) by equipping them with updated knowledge on bank and armored security operations, laws and regulations, risk management, and emerging security threats in the industry.
This is also in line with SOSIA regulatory governance initiatives under the audit and compliance framework, ensuring that industry players are compliant to the training requirement of security personnel in banking and other financial institutions.
Participants will undergo a series of lectures covering Republic Act (RA) No. 11917 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, the Manual of Regulations for Banks on Bank Protection, Bank Security Risk Management, Armored Car Security Procedures, Bank Alarm, CCTV and Electronic Security Systems Management, PNP Joint Anti-Bank Robbery Action Committee Coordinating Center Standard Operating Procedures, ATM Security Threats and Countermeasures, Bank Robbery Prevention, Cybercrime Prevention, and Emergency Management Procedures.
Subject matter experts from BSMAP are expected to share their “tradecraft” to the attending licensed instructors and SOSIA personnel, aiding in capacity-building and raising awareness among stakeholders.
The TOT underscores SOSIA's continuing commitment to strengthening the professionalism and instructional capabilities of security training instructors, ensuring that bank and armored security personnel receive quality, standardized, and up-to-date training in accordance with RA No. 11917 and existing regulatory policies set by SOSIA.
