Sales and customer Service Jargon: Cold Calling vs Warm Calling

The customer service representative industry has a lot of jargon that only they can understand.

For example, Cold Calling and Warm Calling. While this may sound like a cold or warm conversation, it is actually not. These two terms are used to refer to how calls are made to a client.

Cold calling is an unsolicited call. Meaning it is a surprise call to a prospective client. On the other hand, Warm calling is not. It is a call that is anticipated by the client.

Both types of calling practices have different kinds of usage. Cold calling is used for Business to Business (B2B) sales environment while Warm calling is used for Business to Costumers (B2C) sales environments.

There is quite a huge debate as to which calling ways are better but both styles are being used in the corporate world.

But how are timezone conversions calculated manually? This list helps translates UTC to your timezone. Let's try it!

Say, if you live in the Philippines, which is PHT, to convert your client’s UTC, add 8 hours to get to PHT.

Let's say your client wants to set an appointment on July 30, 2020, at 8 am UTC. To know what time that is on your local clock, add 8 hours to that time. So, July 30, 2020, UTC for you is July 30, 2020, at 4 pm.

To convert time zones accurately, you have to know the exact date and which time zones you want to convert to.

For example, March 10 at 02 UTC is the same as March 10 at 02 GMT, but it is not the same as March 10 at 02 PST (U.S.).

RGB vs. CMYK: The Difference between the two and why it matters?

If you are using photoshop or any editing tool for your online job, remote work, or freelance work, you may have noticed a change in color when converting from RGB to CMYK. The reason for this is because RGB and CMYK are two different light colors. RGB refers to the primary colors of light, Red, Green, and Blue often used in scanners, cameras, monitors, and even television screens.

CMYK, on the other hand, are the primary colors of pigment. Meaning, the use of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black are the inks used when printing something of "full-color" or "four-color."

Printing presses can't produce colors that way, you see it on your monitor, thus, the CMYK.

As a rule of thumb, if RGB lights are combined, it creates white while if the CYMK light is combined, it creates black. So when using CMYK, use lighter backgrounds to make your dark or black colored text more readable.
