During the Entrepreneurial Mindset session, participants were encouraged to develop self-awareness by identifying their strengths, interests, and personal goals as foundations for selecting suitable business opportunities. The discussion also emphasized the importance of recognizing needs and challenges within communities that can be transformed into viable business ideas, fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among aspiring entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, the Financial Literacy session highlighted the critical role of sound financial management in ensuring business sustainability and success. Participants learned about common financial mistakes that often lead to business failure, including the mixing of personal and business funds, poor record-keeping practices, improper pricing strategies, and the absence of budgeting systems. The session further underscored the importance of proper budgeting, accurate pricing, expense monitoring, and regular savings in maintaining a stable and profitable enterprise.
Participants gained valuable insights into both entrepreneurship and financial management, reinforcing the connection between a strong entrepreneurial mindset and responsible financial practices. The discussions emphasized that these two elements are essential in building resilient businesses capable of providing long-term livelihood opportunities for OFWs and their families.
Through initiatives such as this, DTI continues to support the reintegration and economic empowerment of OFWs by promoting entrepreneurship, financial capability, and sustainable livelihood development. The activity also reflects the agencyโs commitment to fostering self-reliance and helping returning OFWs transition successfully into productive and financially secure futures through enterprise development.
