Gospel: Luke 7:1-10

I am not worthy

In the gospel today, a centurion's servant who was dear to him was sick and was ready to die. When he heard about Jesus, he wanted him to heal his servant. When Jesus was then not far from the house, the centurion sent his friends to him, saying: Lord, trouble not thyself; for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof.

How many times have you stopped Jesus from entering under your roof thinking and saying that you are not worthy? How many times have you wanted Him not to come near you because you believe you are not deserving of His presence? Today, just like the centurion's servant... even from afar, the gospel is telling you: Jesus is healing you. No matter how far you are and no matter how farther you want to be, Jesus can heal you. His heart can and will always reach you.

Jesus, help us have great faith in You so that we can fully accept and receive Your healing love. Change our heart so that we too, can hear from you: Amen I say to you, I have not found so great faith, not even in Israel. Amen.

Ginoo namong Dios nga nagbuhat sa langit ug yuta, anaa sa imong mga kamot ang kahusay ug kahapsay sa kalibutan. Gibuhat mo ang tanan niining kalibutan nga maayo, lakip na ang kayutaan. Apan tungod sa among mga kasal-anan batok sa kabuhatan, gibalikan kami sa kinaiyahan. Mahalikay unta kami sa katalagman. Tabangi kami sa matag higayon nga mangahadlok kami sa kusog nga bagyo, sa linog, landslide, baha, ug madisgrasya kining hinulman namong kinabuhi. Salamat kaayo sa higayon sa imong pagluwas kanamo, pinaagi sa hinanaling tabang sa panggamhanan, ug lain pang mga sektor aron paglikay kanamo sa peligro, kay matagaan kami'g higayon nga matarong pa namo ang among kaugalingong kinabuhi. Panalipdi ug tabangi ang mga tawo nga nagatubag sa panginahanglan sa mga naangin sa katalagman. Magtinabangay unta ang tanan niining mga panahona, ug dili magpahimuslanon sa uban sa maong kahimtang.

Ang Unang Domingo sa Adbiyento: Panahon sa Paglaum ug Pagpangandam

Ang unang Domingo sa Adbiyento nagtimaan sa pagsugod sa panahon sa Adbiyento, panahon sa pagpangandam alang sa pagsaulog sa Pasko. Ang Adbiyento usa ka panahon sa paglaum, pagpaabut, ug pagpangandam. Kita gipahinumdoman nga ang Diyos nag-uban kanato ug nga kita wala mag-inusara niining kalibotana. Atong giandam ang atong kaugalingon alang sa pag-anhi ni Jesukristo, sa iyang unang pag-anhi isip usa ka bata sa pasungan, ug sa iyang ikaduhang pag-anhi isip Ginoo sa himaya. Ang mga pagbasa sa unang Domingo sa Adbiyento nagtawag kanato nga magtukaw ug magmabinantayon, kay wala kita masayod kon kanus-a moabot ang Ginoo. Kita mahisama sa mga sulugoon nga naghulat sa ilang agalon nga mobalik gikan sa kasal. Kinahanglang andam kita, nga nagsiga ang atong mga suga, aron atong madawat ang Ginoo sa iyang pag-abot. Ang panahon sa Adbiyento maoy panahon alang kanato sa pagpamalandong sa atong mga kinabuhi ug sa paghimog mga kausaban kon gikinahanglan. Kita kinahanglan nga maghinulsol sa atong mga sala ug mobalik ngadto sa Dios. Kita kinahanglan nga andam sa pagdawat sa gasa sa gugma ug kalooy sa Dios. Ang unang Domingo sa Adbiyento maoy panahon nga atong sugdan ang atong espirituhanong panaw paingon sa Pasko. Panahon na alang kanato sa pag-andam sa atong kasingkasing ug hunahuna alang sa pag-anhi ni Jesukristo.
