COFOUND Shines at the 10th Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Service Learning!

We are thrilled to share that the Consortium of Universities for Nutrition and Dietetics (COFOUND) actively participated in the 10th Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Service Learning, held at the Ateneo de Davao University from October 6-10, 2025.

Our dedicated team, represented by the authors Prof. John Rafael R. Arañas, Prof. Alvyn Klein Mana-ay, Prof. Ruth Ann S. Entea, and Prof. Maylen Licatan. We extend our thanks to the other paper authors as well as Lea Josella B. Cerio, Juric Liny B. Linaugo, Jenybell P. Melendez, and Lady Winderose V. Oliverio

We're proud of their involvement in fostering service learning within nutrition and dietetics education!

Exciting announcement for our COFOUND member-schools! 📣

Day 2 of SL Workshop just ended! We are truly grateful to the host school, Silliman University, for the warm accomodation and fruitful collaborations. Day 1 of our Service-Learning Workshop has been incredibly insightful and engaging! We kicked things off with a warm welcome from the Director of Community Engagement and Service Learning, Mr. Novee Maestrocampo and our COFOUND Chair, Mr. John Rafael R. Arañas, setting a collaborative tone for the days ahead.

We were then deeply inspired by the keynote address from President of Silliman University, Dr. Betty C. McCann, whose words truly underscored the transformative power of service-learning.

The learning continued with a foundational introduction to the SL Manual in Session 1, followed by a deeper dive into "Understanding Service Learning" led by the knowledgeable Mam Ruth Entera in Session 2. Mr. Alvyn Klein Mana-ay then enriched our understanding further in Session 3, sharing valuable framework and perspectives on Service Learning.

We capped off a productive day with Session 4, focusing on the crucial aspects of program development and design, expertly facilitated by Mr. Arañas and Mr. Mana-ay.

What a fantastic start to our workshop! We're energized by the discussions and eager for more learning and collaboration tomorrow.
