It’s mango season and we have a new favorite drink on the menu: Mango Sticky Rice Horchata 🥭

Our classic Palawan Horchata meets our homemade mango syrup to make the ultimate summer drank. We finish it off with some toasted rice and dried mango for you to snack on after downing this drink within 2 minutes (or not. take your time)

We have been so lucky to call El Nido our home where we get to meet and collaborate with amazing individuals. A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of having our friends over at Taste El Nido to we work together in creating their own type of roast profile. We hope to establish and strengthen our relationship with our friends and partners so we all can enjoy a great cup of coffee as well us the other processes to get there. Make sure to show them some love! Did you know that apart from saving our down days with his smile, Martin can literally save lives as he is a registered nurse! His coffee journey didn't start until 2018 in his native town of San Juan, La Union where he worked his way up from being a dishwasher, line cook, production lead, front of house roles and roaster. He truly can do anything and everything! Fast forward to 2020, he was one of the OGs that helped open up LICK. We are so lucky to have him, we've been through a lot and we know we wouldn't have been able to make it through without him. So cheers to you, Martin!

First up, is the pillar, the smile, and the body (?), Martin. If you've ever graced our sister coffee bar, Islas Makinas, then you have been hooked by his charming smile and infectious personality. Martin will make you feel at ease right away, and if you ask for any recos around El Nido he'll surely take care of you. The next few posts will be dedicated to Martin, his story, his relationship...with coffee and what brought him to El Nido.

It is true that we can't live without coffee, but what keeps us really going are the people who make up our growing family and the community we have built here in El Nido. Most of us are away from home and have found family in one another, through surviving the wild year that was 2020 to welcoming 2023 with open arms, all that we did together. As a token of appreciation, we would like to shine a spotlight on these beautiful souls so that you can get to meet them, too. Be sure to say hi to them when you visit our sister coffee bar, Islas Makinas!
