Occupational Therapy Data Analysis 📊 | Batch 2025 - 2026

This year's patient data provides an overview of the individuals served through occupational therapy and the services delivered throughout the period of Batch 2025 to 2026. A total of 68 patients received occupational therapy services, with older adults comprising the majority of the patient population.

Key findings:
- Neurological conditions were the most common diagnoses, particularly Stroke/CVA, followed by musculoskeletal conditions and peripheral neuropathy
- Most services were provided through Outpatient Department (OPD) sessions, with IPD and Telehealth serving as additional modes of service delivery
- Patient numbers remained generally stable throughout the year, indicating a consistent need for occupational therapy services
- January recorded the highest patient census, while June had the lowest
- Telehealth supported continuity of care for selected clients who required remote intervention and follow-up

Overall, the findings highlight the important role of occupational therapy in supporting individuals with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, particularly adults requiring long-term rehabilitation to improve independence in daily activities.

Healing beyond exercise 🏋️

Physical Agent Modalities (PAMs) are therapeutic treatments that use physical energy such as heat, sound, electricity, or light to help manage pain and improve recovery.

Combitherapy, a combination of ultrasound and electrical stimulation, may help reduce pain, improve circulation, relax muscles, and promote soft tissue healing.

These treatments may benefit individuals with:
• muscle tightness
• joint pain
• soft tissue injuries
• and limited movement.

But be careful 🧐PAMs should be avoided over areas with impaired sensation, pacemakers, active infections, or certain areas during pregnancy without proper medical guidance. Always consult a trained healthcare professional before treatment.

Our third OT Corner focused on study-life balance and mental well-being through wellness tips on rest, leisure, sleep, and study habits. 🌙🧠

Students were encouraged to reflect on their daily routines during exam week and recognize the importance of rest, leisure, and self-care while studying. 💙

Our second OT Corner focused on promoting healthy study habits and daily routines through interactive activities such as habit boards, lifestyle bingo, and wellness education. 📚💙

Through occupational therapy, we aim to encourage healthier routines, better self-management, and improved well-being in student life. ✨
