TESDA EBET Program Successfully Delivered by TECHIRON

The Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Program is a transformative initiative established under Republic Act 12063, commonly referred to as the EBET Framework Act, enacted in 2024. This program advocates a demand-driven approach to technical-vocational education and training (TVET), positioning enterprises as pivotal players in workforce development.

Techiron has been granted the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) TVET Program Registration Certificate for the EBET Programs in Heavy Equipment Operation, specifically pertaining to Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck NC II and Hydraulic Excavator NC II, on September 29, 2025. With EBET, Techiron had an opportunity to deliver training to local residents of Homonhon Island that aligns with the company's actual needs.

From February 18 to March 15, 2026, Techiron facilitated its first practical and hands-on training program at the company’s mine site located in Barangay Cagusu-an, Homonhon Island. This program served 44 TESDA scholars, including 22 in the Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck program and 22 in the Hydraulic Excavator program.

To assess trainees' eligibility for the NC II certificate based on the skills acquired during training, a five-day Competency Assessment was conducted from May 16 to May 20, 2026. This assessment was facilitated by representatives from the Samar National School of Arts and Trades. A total of 37 trainees successfully completed the Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck NC II Competency Assessment, which included 16 TESDA scholars, while 30 trainees passed the Hydraulic Excavator NC II Competency Assessment, comprising 22 scholars.

This initiative exemplifies Techiron’s commitment to providing quality technical education and skills development opportunities that contribute to workforce empowerment and community development. The program also aligns with the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.

Congratulations to all NC II passers on this remarkable accomplishment.

On April 30, 2026, representatives from Techiron Resources Inc. participated in the Information and Education Campaign (IEC) focused on the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) for the Guiuan Mining Industry Coordinating Council (GMICC).

This event took place at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall and gathered delegates from various mining companies operating on Homonhon Island, as well as department heads and officials from the Local Government Unit of Guiuan, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), and other key stakeholders. The participants' collective aim was to promote responsible and sustainable development in the mining sector. The distinguished attendees from the LGU of Guiuan included members of the Sangguniang Bayan: Hon. Kinna Mabansag, Hon. Poly Bagro, Hon. Charmaine Villar, Hon. Antonia Cablao, Hon. Carlito Abrugar, Hon. Rogelio Cablao, and Hon. Josue Sison.

A notable highlight of the event was the informative presentation delivered by Mr. Calvin Perez from the MGB Central Office. He emphasized the significance of the SDMP, detailing its legal foundations and the identification and implementation of associated programs, projects, and activities. Mr. Perez articulated how the SDMP serves as an essential conduit for providing meaningful development opportunities to the host and neighboring communities of the companies operating on the island. He also emphasized the responsibilities of mining companies under CDAO 2010-21 for implementing the SDMP in partnership with communities.

Ms. Josephine Momongan from the MGB Region VIII delivered a presentation on the realities and challenges of implementing the SDMP. Her insights provided participants with a clearer understanding of the programs that must be completed and emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among all stakeholders.

The active involvement of the participants marks the significance of collaboration between the local government and the mining sector. More than just an IEC, the activity became a venue for meaningful conversations, shared ideas, and renewed understanding and commitment toward responsible mining and community development. It emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among the Local Government Unit of Guiuan, Barangay LGUs, other stakeholders, and the mining companies to ensure that the SDMP is implemented in ways that truly benefit the people and communities it is intended to serve.

On May 5, 2026, a successful donation initiative was conducted at the Provincial Correction Center in Borongan City, during which 150 hygiene kits and 200 uniforms for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) were formally presented for their use. This initiative aimed to provide support, compassion, and dignity to individuals undergoing rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Aside from supplying basic necessities, the initiative served as a significant reminder that every individual deserves respect, care, and the opportunity for renewal and hope, irrespective of their current circumstances.

We acknowledge the critical role of collaboration among the private sector, LGUs, and the community in enhancing institutions that uphold rehabilitation and restorative justice. Activities such as this emphasize the importance of social responsibility and collective humanity, reinforcing the notion that true service extends beyond mere assistance; it encompasses the restoration of dignity and the cultivation of hope.

Furthermore, this initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
• SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being
• SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
• SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
• SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

As we progress, we remain dedicated to supporting programs and partnerships that nurture inclusivity, compassion, and community welfare. Collectively, let us continue to develop a society founded on kindness, understanding, and renewed opportunities for all individuals.
