TESDA EBET Program Successfully Delivered by TECHIRON
The Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Program is a transformative initiative established under Republic Act 12063, commonly referred to as the EBET Framework Act, enacted in 2024. This program advocates a demand-driven approach to technical-vocational education and training (TVET), positioning enterprises as pivotal players in workforce development.
Techiron has been granted the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) TVET Program Registration Certificate for the EBET Programs in Heavy Equipment Operation, specifically pertaining to Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck NC II and Hydraulic Excavator NC II, on September 29, 2025. With EBET, Techiron had an opportunity to deliver training to local residents of Homonhon Island that aligns with the company's actual needs.
From February 18 to March 15, 2026, Techiron facilitated its first practical and hands-on training program at the company’s mine site located in Barangay Cagusu-an, Homonhon Island. This program served 44 TESDA scholars, including 22 in the Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck program and 22 in the Hydraulic Excavator program.
To assess trainees' eligibility for the NC II certificate based on the skills acquired during training, a five-day Competency Assessment was conducted from May 16 to May 20, 2026. This assessment was facilitated by representatives from the Samar National School of Arts and Trades. A total of 37 trainees successfully completed the Rigid-On-Highway Dump Truck NC II Competency Assessment, which included 16 TESDA scholars, while 30 trainees passed the Hydraulic Excavator NC II Competency Assessment, comprising 22 scholars.
This initiative exemplifies Techiron’s commitment to providing quality technical education and skills development opportunities that contribute to workforce empowerment and community development. The program also aligns with the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
Congratulations to all NC II passers on this remarkable accomplishment.
