In a move to bring and transfer remarkable ideas and inventions into commercial application, the signing of a Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) between MSU-IIT and InfraspeX Inc., a spin-off company established to commercialize a university-developed technology titled “Drone & AI-Based Infrastructure Inspection System", took place at the Office of the Chancellor (OC) Lounge on April 15, 2026, marking the university’s first-ever spin-off.
Developed by Prof. Carl John O. Salaan and his research team within the University, InfraspeX Inc. is an innovative and revolutionary solution designed for an efficient and cutting-edge approach with the utilization of AI to infrastructure inspection, such as road and bridge condition monitoring, structural analysis, and environmental assessments. This digital workflow system revolutionizes traditional manual inspection by capturing high-resolution visual data, and it is capable of detecting structural defects and generating standardized engineering reports.
