DTI Negosyo Center Carles visited the inspiring workspace of Marvz SB Collections owned by Mr. Marvin Salvadico Baclason in Brgy. Barosbos, Carles, Iloilo.

Known for transforming locally woven Hablon and Piña Jusi into elegant gowns, barongs, and boleros, Sir Marvin continues to showcase the beauty of Filipino craftsmanship through his unique creations. Aside from custom formal wear, he also produces uniforms for various LGU personnel, while his designs have graced weddings, pageants, and most recently, the Lin-ay sang Carles stage.

During the visit, we discussed opportunities to further expand the business through participation in upcoming trade fairs, building on the exposure gained from the Agro-Aqua Trade Fair in Carles last 2025. We also talked about the importance of protecting the brand through trademark registration for his business name and logo.

Sharing here some of Sir Marvin’s remarkable creations crafted from Piña Jusi and elegant Hablon accents—beautiful pieces that celebrate Filipino heritage while showcasing the creativity and exceptional craftsmanship of a proud Carlesnon designer.

As part of the culminating activity of the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration held at the Carles Municipal Gymnasium, DTI Negosyo Center Carles maximized the opportunity to engage with local organizations and community stakeholders to promote entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development.

One of the associations we had the opportunity to engage with was Tarong Farmers Association, an emerging association with promising agricultural products such as pili nuts, sugarcane, and coconuts. We introduced the various programs and services of Negosyo Center, including business counselling, entrepreneurial mentoring, product development, and other forms of assistance that can help strengthen their organization and prepare them for future business opportunities.

We also had a productive discussion with representatives from Brgy. Bancal, who shared their vision of establishing a fish canning enterprise to add value to locally caught fish, create sustainable livelihood opportunities for fisherfolk, and contribute to the municipality’s economic growth. Possible DTI interventions and support were likewise discussed to help transform this initiative into a viable enterprise.

More opportunities naman para sa aton nga mga MSMEs dri sa Carles!

Strengthening local enterprises and MSMEs is one of the priorities of the DTI. As part of this commitment, Negosyo Center Carles conducted an enterprise visit to Chef Kaer Food Products in Brgy. Abong, Carles, Iloilo to monitor the enterprise’s progress and discuss opportunities for further growth and market expansion.

Owned by Mr. Ermil Golingan, the enterprise started during the pandemic by transforming fresh ingredients from their own backyard into a unique, all-in-one sinamak made with coconut vinegar and blended native spices. What began as a simple backyard initiative has grown into a thriving local business producing up to 200 bottles monthly.

The visit also served as a follow-up on the business development services already provided by the DTI Negosyo Center Carles, including Business Name (BN) Registration, product labeling assistance, and business planning, which have helped improve the enterprise’s branding and market readiness.

Today, Chef Kaer Food Products continues to gain recognition beyond the Municipality of Carles, with its signature sinamak frequently purchased as tokens and giveaways for various events in neighboring municipalities and other provinces.
