“Dagyaw”

This one’s pretty special - during the process of weaving this, I had one of my favorite coffee places in mind. So, in its completion, there was no hesitation in deciding to give this as a (housewarming) gift to them. “Dagyaw” translates as “bayanihan”, and that which expresses communal unity or the power of community & cooperation. It is this special gift of togetherness and love for community (and coffee of course!) that .coffee has truly provided us with. Salamat gid sa inyo presensya kag serbisyo. Padayon!

Was able to weave two pieces over the weekend and played with texture a bit. Decided to go “blanc” this time and I love how it turned out.
I have no titles for the pieces- my mind went blanc on this too. 😅 Someone suggested to name these “Paubaya” and the other “Tagpuan”- kayo na bahala, friends. Haha!

Selling both, but for these pieces, malaya kayo to decide how much value you want to place on it. 😁

Hello! 👋🏻 It has been quite a hiatus but I’m slowly getting back to making pieces again and exploring new areas in this craft. Hand-dyed some ropes and incorporated these in this batch! Was reflecting on the Lord’s faithfulness this week and I kept hearing this part of the song “You Are Good” (Bethel) in my mind—

“..With a cry of praise my heart will proclaim
You are good, You are good
In the Sun or rain my life celebrates
You are good, You are good..”

Most of my pieces are usually birthed out from stuff I’ve been reflecting on. These two pieces here are expressions of it:
“Abide” (gleaned from John 15) and “Ehhad” (In Hebrew it means “One”- like God’s character: “..each attribute of Yahweh is a unit, and each unit manifests itself in different ways, but they all work together to form a "unity” in the same way that all the individual units of a bicycle work together in unity, allowing the bicycle to function properly.”
