Itโs easy to spend our lives collecting things we believe will make us secureโmoney, possessions, recognition, achievements, or comfort. But Jesus reminds us that everything we store up on earth is temporary. Things can break, disappear, lose their value, or simply be left behind.
Jesus says:
โDo not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.โ
Matthew 6:19 NIV๐๏ธ
Jesus isnโt telling us that having possessions or planning for the future is wrong. He is reminding us not to let temporary things become the treasure of our hearts.
What we value most will eventually shape how we live. If our hearts are constantly chasing what the world can offer, we may slowly lose sight of what lasts forever.
Our time, resources, relationships, and abilities are gifts from God. We can use them not simply to build a comfortable life, but to honor Him and invest in things that have eternal value.
So today, ask yourself: What has been taking up the greatest space in my heart?
May we learn to hold earthly things loosely and treasure God above everything else. What we have on earth will not last foreverโbut what we do for His kingdom has eternal significance.๐ฟ๐คฒ
