Testing and Commissioning of AFSS and FDAS at Cotabato Provincial Gymnasium

Scope of Work:
Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of the following fire protection systems:
• Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) – Sprinkler System
• Fire Detection and Alarm System (FDAS)
• Fire Extinguishers with Cabinets

Testing and Commissioning Activities Conducted:

A simultaneous flow test was performed using three (3) Fire Hose Cabinets (FHC) together with the Inspector’s Test Valve (ITV) to verify the hydraulic performance and water supply capacity of the sprinkler system under demand conditions.

The Fire Detection and Alarm System was tested using a Beam-Type Smoke Detector, confirming proper detection, alarm initiation, and system response. All connected notification appliances operated as intended upon activation.

The integrated testing of the AFSS and FDAS verified that all installed components were functioning properly and in accordance with the project requirements.

PRODUCT TESTING

Flame detectors (IR-base mounted) are typically used in environments where traditional smoke or heat detectors may not perform effectively, such as:
• High-ceiling areas (e.g., warehouses, aircraft hangars, industrial plants)
• Areas with high air velocity, where strong airflow can disperse smoke and delay detection
• Open or outdoor spaces, where smoke may not accumulate

This system will be installed at RUSI and HS AGRI VET – Kidapawan Branch, marking the first installation in Region XII.

Note:
Initial testing has been conducted at our office with ceiling level below 3 meters.

Final validation testing will be conducted at the actual installation site to further confirm system performance under real environmental conditions.
