Herbal mountain teas have been used for centuries for their medicinal and therapeutic properties. These teas are made from plants that grow in high-altitude mountainous regions (such as the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR))which are rich in nutrients and minerals due to the unpolluted air, water, and soil.

According to Soultani et al. (2014), herbal mountain teas have a range of health benefits, including improving digestion, boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, and promoting relaxation. They are also rich in antioxidants, which can protect the body against damage from free radicals and oxidative stress. Many of these teas have antimicrobial properties, making them effective against infections and illnesses. They have a calming effect on the mind and body, reducing stress and anxiety. They are a natural and safe alternative to caffeine-rich beverages and can help promote better sleep.

Significantly, herbal mountain teas are significant because of their numerous health benefits, including improved digestion, immune function, and stress relief. They are a natural and safe alternative to caffeine-rich beverages and are an important part of traditional medicine in many cultures.

Teaback met its first Business Partner!

We were glad to discuss the upcoming partnership about re-opening a home-based milktea bar at Baguio City on May 27, 2023 (Saturday)!

Thank you Sir and Maam Kenny for trusting us!

This is our way to bring back herbal mountain teas in and outside of Cordillera! Significantly, we also highlight to advocate non-wood forest products (NWFP) as we aim for sustainable utilization of forest resources!

Why Sappan and Gipas?

The leaves and stems of Sappan wood contain flavonoid compounds, tannins, alkaloids, brazilin, phytosterols, and saponins (Mu'nisa et al., 2017). In the research of Rajput et al. (2021), no evidence of acute or subacute toxicity has been found in male and female rats treated with C. sappan extract; however, as per reports, the isolated compound brazilein should be utilized vigilantly during or before pregnancy.

For Gipas, in reference to Taguiling and Villena (2017), phytochemical analysis of the leaf extract of S. glabra showed the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, and reducing sugar, saponins, phytosterols, phenolics, tannins, flavonoids and proteins. It is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine as an antipyretic, detoxicate, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-infectious drug (Cao et al., 2012).

Our Logo

The green-colored logo represents the nature of the product which is forest-based. The green thick layer surrounding the logo represents the forest which has the potential for sustainable extraction purposes for local enterprises. The cup represents tea which is the usual symbol for the said product. TEA BACK may sound for adults which means this product caters to the entirety of the BSU community who are 18 years old and above and fond of drinking tea.

The quote gives us a hint that this product is part of forest-based industries.
