CORDILLERAN'S BINNADANG SPIRIT: RELIEF GOODS TRANSPORTED TO TYPHOON-HIT CEBU
Dake-dake ay iyaman sin amin ay nandonate.
The Cordilleran spirit of unity and compassion shines once again as Binnadang Cordillera leads a remarkable wave of generosity to bring hope and assistance to communities in Cebu affected by Typhoon Tino.
With the support of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO CAR), the region’s in-kind donations were gathered, organized, and some were transported early to help families in need. Under the leadership of PBGEN Ericson D. Dilag, Regional Director, PRO CAR played a central role in this humanitarian effort, ensuring efficient collection, consolidation, and movement of relief supplies.
On November 7, 2025, personnel from PRO CAR mobilized at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet. Together with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15), the Benguet Police Provincial Office, and the Office of Civil Defense–CAR, teams worked tirelessly to receive and load donations from cooperatives, volunteer groups, schools, private individuals, and partner agencies.
The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) strengthened the initiative by coordinating and consolidating more donations coming from various public and private organizations across Baguio City.
By the early morning of November 8, 2025, RMFB15 personnel transported the first batch of consolidated relief goods to Clark Air Base, Pampanga. From there, the supplies were turned over for air transport to Cebu. This initial shipment included 6.8 tons of assorted highland vegetables and 52 sacks of rice, each weighing 25 kilograms. More assistance continues to be prepared, including additional rice sacks, bottled water, canned goods, clothing, toiletries, construction materials, and other essential items awaiting transport.
This whole-of-community initiative is spearheaded by Ms. Khristine E. Molitas, Vice-Chairperson of the Battalion Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development of RMFB15. Working closely with the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division of PRO 7, she ensured that the relief operations remain organized, timely, and responsive to the needs of affected families in Cebu.
In true Cordilleran fashion, this collective action reflects the enduring tradition of binnadang, a call to help, to stand together, and to bring hope where it is needed most.
