Iâm Ashley, and my career journey has been anything but traditional. I started in the IT-BPO industry, then explored different fields for eight years, trying to figure out where I truly belonged. It wasnât a straight path, and to be honest, I never had a fixed career plan. I always leaned toward unconventional choices, but at some point, I knew I needed a practical stepping stoneâso I took one. Thatâs how I got my foot in the door, and now, life has brought me full circle. Today, I work as a Customer Success Manager at Auctrix, and it feels like everything has aligned exactly as it should.
Unlike most people, I didnât follow a specific career roadmap. I figured things out along the wayâby trying, by failing, and by learning. Thatâs how I discovered what I truly enjoy: talking to people, hearing their stories, and reflecting on them. It fascinates me how every person carries a unique narrative, and somehow, my role now feels like Iâm not just managing customer successâIâm helping shape stories into better ones. Itâs not the path I originally imagined for myself, but itâs definitely the one that feels right.
International Womenâs Day, for me, is a reminder of everything women have fought forâand continue to fight for. We are mothers, daughters, leaders, creators, and innovators. We give birth, raise families, contribute to industries, and impact society in ways that are often overlooked. Iâm proud to be part of a generation where women can make choices about who they marry (or not), how many children they want (if any), what careers to pursue, who to vote for, and what causes to advocate for. Weâve come a long way, and while thereâs still work to do, we are here, and we are seen.
One of the biggest personal challenges Iâve faced in my career is being highly emotional. I used to think it was a weaknessâthat being too affected by the energy of others would hinder my ability to lead. But over time, I realized that my emotional awareness is actually my greatest strength. It allows me to connect deeply with people, understand what theyâre going through, and guide them with empathy. In an industry where leadership is often associated with being dominant, assertive, and goal-driven, I learned to lead with quiet strength and emotional intelligence. My ability to feel deeply doesnât limit meâit empowers me.
What keeps me motivated isnât just the work itself, but the meaning I attach to it. Iâve learned that motivation isnât something you findâitâs something you create. For me, staying productive isnât about forcing myself to work harder; itâs about finding purpose in what I do. When I feel aligned with my role, showing up every day feels natural. But even when motivation fades, I lean on consistency and discipline. Being part of Auctrix has given me a space where my skills are valued, my growth is encouraged, and my voice is heardâmaking each day feel like a step toward something meaningful.
An empowered woman is often fearedâbecause empowered women cannot be controlled. For me, true empowerment is about embracing opportunities that nurture my growth and align with my purpose. Itâs not about having everythingâitâs about recognizing when a new path is calling and confidently stepping into it. One of the most defining moments in my life was when I started trusting myself fully, making bold decisions that shaped my own journey. In doing so, I realized that empowerment isnât something you wait forâitâs something you create.
My advice to women who want to grow in their careers? Make the most of every moment, and donât be afraid to explore. A career isnât just about finding a jobâitâs about discovering what resonates with your soul. If youâre unsure about your path, try things, take risks, and trust yourself. Forge your own way, even if it doesnât look like everyone elseâs. The right career is the one that feels aligned with who you are.
At work, I uplift others simply by being myself. If people were to describe me, theyâd probably say I have a strong, intense personalityâwhich doesnât exactly fit the traditional stereotype of women as soft or demure. But Iâve embraced that, and in doing so, I hold space for others to be their authentic selves. I remind people that their power lies in who they already are. You donât need to change who you are to fit inâyou just need to own it.
Companies and governments play a vital role in creating workplaces where women can thrive. By providing access to mental health support, childcare assistance, and flexible work policies, businesses empower womenâespecially working mothersâto succeed both professionally and personally. At Auctrix, we recognize that todayâs workforce is evolving, and we are committed to fostering an environment where women can build fulfilling careers while balancing their personal lives. When businesses invest in inclusive systems, they donât just support womenâthey drive innovation, productivity, and long-term success.
As for me, my biggest goal isnât just career-relatedâitâs personal. I want to build a farm that serves as a sanctuary for people who need to reconnect with nature and themselves. A place where people can slow down, breathe, and remember who they truly are. I believe that wholeness doesnât come from external achievementsâit comes from within. And thatâs something I want to create, not just for myself, but for others.
Balancing work and personal life is all about structure. While I love spontaneity, Iâve learned that I thrive in order, not chaos. I have a routine that nurtures my spiritual, physical, and mental well-beingâbecause success isnât just about work. Itâs about living fully.
To every woman reading this: never turn away from yourself by trying to be like somebody else. Not just in your career, but in life. Embrace every part of yourselfâyour strengths, your flaws, your quirks. Once you do, work on improving them, and youâll find yourself in a constant journey of growth and evolution. That, to me, is what empowerment truly looks like. đ
