Balikan natin ang nakaraan at mga kwento sa Aling Helen’s Kalamay.

Bago pa man magkaroon ng mga kudkuran at iba pang machinery para mapadali ang proseso sa pagluluto, alam niyo ba na noon ay mano-manong ginagadgad ni Lolo Rogel ang niyog at saka ito mano-manong pipigain upang mahiwalay ang gata sa laman. Ganoon din ang kamote na mano-manong ginagadgad bago ito lutuin sa baga at ibibingka.

Bukod kay Lola Helen, malaking parte rin si Lolo Rogel sa pagkakalamay. Hinding hindi namin malilimutan at sobrang amazed kami sa pagluluto niya ng sawsawan ng buchi kung gaano kabilis niya haluin ito upang hindi manikit sa kaldero.

Kaya’t sa 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐤𝐚𝐝𝐚ng pagseserbisyo, masaya at proud kaming ibahagi hindi lamang ang mga masasarap na kalamay/kakanin, kung hindi pati na rin ang mga kwento sa likod nito.

✨ THROWBACK THURSDAY NG ALING HELEN’S KALAMAY ✨

March 15, 2020 nagstart ang lockdown due to COVID-19. Affected lahat ng businesses at maraming nagsara pansamantala even ang kalamay business ni Lola Helen.

Unti-unti ulit siyang nagbukas noong May 3, 2020 at walang palya. Kahit mahigpit pa noon dahil sa mga community quarantine ay sold out pa rin ang kanyang mga kalamay. ❤️

At dahil limited lamang ang nakalalabas, kasabay ng pagbubukas ng kanyang tindahan, kaming mga apo (from D and T) ang tumulong upang buhayin muli ang kanyang FB page at makipagconnect sa mga tao through online.

Noon pa man ay marami na siyang suki, ngunit nang dahil sa pagiging active online, nakapagconnect kami sa new customers at resellers mula sa iba’t ibang lugar.

Taos puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa mga taong tumulong upang manumbalik ang buhay ng negosyo ni Lola Helen - ang mga staff ni Lola Helen noon para sa araw-araw na paggawa ng masasarap na kalamay, sa taong unang nag-initiate para gumawa ng logo ni Lola upang magkaroon ng branding, sa kanyang mga suki, kaibigan at kapamilyang tunay na sumusuporta at higit sa lahat, kay Lola Helen mismo.

Mula sa D and T, pananatilihin namin ang legasiyang nasimulan ng aming Lola Helen through her guidance.
