We were recently made aware of a circulating online post regarding an incident inside Cafรฉ Bรฉni. In the interest of transparency and fairness to our community, we would like to clarify the facts.
Cafรฉ Bรฉni maintains a ๐ก๐ผ ๐ข๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ policy, clearly posted at our entrance, to ensure a respectful and consistent experience for all guests. During the incident, approximately ten (10) outside beverages were brought into the store, and our staff respectfully explained the house rules in accordance with our policies.
Previously, a corkage fee of PHP 500 per drink was occasionally offered only as a special accommodation when guests insisted on bringing outside beverages. ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐. In simple terms, the amount was intentionally set higher to strongly discourage outside drinks and to encourage compliance with our house policy, rather than to function as a regular option. In this instance, the guest chose not to proceed under this arrangement, and no corkage fee was collected.
Management confirms that the staff involved maintained professional and respectful conduct throughout the interaction.
To avoid future misunderstandings and to uphold fairness for everyone, management has decided to remove any prior special consideration of corkage and will fully enforce the ๐ก๐ผ ๐ข๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ policy moving forward.
