CADX (CAD Expert+) Joins the Celebration of World Architecture Day 2025: “Design for Strength”
The International Union of Architects (UIA) has officially announced the global theme “Design for Strength” for World Architecture Day 2025, which will be celebrated on Monday, October 6, 2025, in conjunction with the United Nations’ World Habitat Day.
Established in 1985, World Architecture Day is observed annually on the first Monday of October, serving as a platform for architects worldwide to reflect on their role in shaping resilient, inclusive, and sustainable built environments.
For 2025, the World Habitat Day theme emphasizes urban crisis response, aligning with the UIA’s call for architectural practices that go beyond temporary solutions. Architects are encouraged to design for resilience, adaptability, and rebuildability—ensuring that the built environment not only provides shelter but also upholds equity, continuity, and strength during times of disruption.
The key messages for this year’s celebration include:
Strength in Design – Advocating for architecture that embodies durability, resilience, and cultural sensitivity to support thriving communities.
A Platform for Resilience – Recognizing the vital role of the built environment in protecting and rebuilding communities after natural or human-made crises.
Sustainable Rebuilding – Promoting responsible design that enables repair, restoration, and adaptation through environmentally sound materials and methods.
In support of these goals, the UIA invites architects and organizations to engage in activities such as webinars, exhibitions, and discussions that explore “Design for Strength.” Member Sections are also encouraged to share best practices in resilience-focused design, showcase innovative architectural solutions for crisis-affected areas, and enhance architectural education for the next generation.
