Strengthening Financial Stewardship Through Learning

The Board of Directors and Management Team of the Magallanes Business Owners and Community Multipurpose Cooperative (MBOCMPC) successfully completed Seminar on Financial Management facilitated by Mr. Peter Goth of Catalyste+, a Canadian non-government organization dedicated to helping organizations build sustainable growth and stronger management systems.

The seminar provided valuable insights on sound financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, financial analysis, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Through this learning opportunity, participants gained practical knowledge and tools that will further strengthen the cooperative's financial governance and long-term sustainability.

As MBOCMPC continues its commitment to serving its members and community, the lessons learned from this seminar will help improve financial discipline, enhance transparency and accountability, support informed business decisions, and ensure the cooperative remains resilient and financially stable in the years ahead.

The Board of Directors of MBOCMPC updated its CSO Accreditation with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office IV-A to further strengthen its partnership with the government in advancing agricultural development initiatives.

This accreditation will greatly benefit organizations such as the Tagsibol Community Farmers group and TIKME Food Producers under the cooperative by providing greater access to government support, capability trainings, agricultural assistance programs, and other development opportunities for farmers and rural communities.

The Board of Directors of MBOCMPC, along with several farmer-members, visited Los Baños – Bureau of Plant Industry to gain insights into soybean seed production.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities in soybean farming and to better understand the entire value chain of soybean production, from seed development to the processing of soy-based products.

Thank you UPLB BPI , Mayor Janessa Maligaya de Ramayo and Vice Mayor Aina Mari Sisante Maligalig for providing the transportation and for your support in our cooperatives.

As part of MBOC MPC’s efforts to reach all sectors of the community, a Pre-Membership Education Seminar was conducted with the Magallanes OFW group across the globe.

The cooperative is opening its membership to interested OFWs from Magallanes, with programs that include financial education, savings initiatives, and responsible lending services, among others.
