Alegria is moving closer to becoming the site of Cebu’s first large-scale wind power project after the Cebu Provincial Development Council Executive Committee endorsed the proposed Alegria Wind Power Project on June 10, 2026.

Developed by MC Power Solutions, Inc., the project will feature 10 wind turbines capable of generating 80 megawatts of renewable energy for the national grid.

The wind farm will be located in the barangays of Guadalupe, Valencia, and Lepanto, with construction targeted to begin next year and completion projected in 2028.

If realized, the project would mark a major milestone for Cebu’s renewable energy sector, making Alegria the province’s first wind power hub while bringing jobs, local revenues, and clean energy to the community.
