TESDA TRAINING FOR WORK SCHOLARSHIP (TWSP) PROGRAM
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines. It was created by virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”.
One of TESDA’s programs is the Training for Work Scholarship (TWSP). This program provides immediate interventions to meet the need for highly critical skills. The program has two-fold objectives:to purposively drive TVET provision to available jobs through incentives and appropriate training programs that are directly connected to existing jobs for immediate employment, both locally and overseas,to build and strengthen the capacity and capability of TVET institutions in expanding and improving the delivery of quality, efficient and relevant training programs that meet job requirements, including programs for higher levels of technology.
1.0 Candidates must be at least 18 years old at the time the scholar finishes the training;
2.0 Educational attainment shall be based on industry requirements or as prescribed in the relevant Training Regulations;
3.0 Can either be out-of-school youths, TVET trainers or industry workers obtaining skills upgrading training programs;
4.0 Priority shall be given to those without prior formal or vocational trainings as well as those coming from regions or provinces where the absolute number of poor residents and the incidence of poverty are high, as identified in the latest official poverty statistics of the PSA-NSCB; and
5.0 Other clientele groups such as persons with disability (PWDs), indigenous people, solo parents and their children, senior citizens shall be afforded access to scholarships opportunities in the qualifications/courses where they can qualify. OFW returnees, members of the families of AFP and PNP personnel killed in military and police operations and other marginalized groups may also avail of the scholarship program subject to pre-qualification.
6.0 MUST NOT BE CURRENTLY A BENEFICIARY OF GOVERNMENT EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS(E.G. OWWA SESP, SUP) OR OTHER GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY PROGRAMS.
TESDA Pasay Makati District Office is allocatingscholarships for Instrumentation and Control Servicing NC2 and NC3 who will study underMetrologyx Training and Assessment Center, Inc an accredited TESDA TVET institution with facilities along Sen Gil Puyat Ave (formerly Buendia) corner Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
For High School graduates, after completing the Instrumentation and Control Servicing NC2, NC3, NC4, they will be given a Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Technology (ICT). They also can get a Baccalaureate Degree in Technology through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETTEAP) after completing ten (10) years in the industry.
In this regard, we’d like to ask your good office to provide us with a list of eligible candidates from your constituency based on the qualifications above, who are willing, interested in, and are committed to undergo training in Instrumentation and Control Servicing.
Candidates must finish the duration of the course and pass the competency assessment in order to earn an internationally recognized TESDA National Certificate (NC) making him eligible for employment locally or globally.
Candidates must also submit a photocopy of their High School Diploma (Form 137), Technology or College Diploma, or Transcript of Records (TOR), whichever is applicable. Candidates must also submit two (2) passport size pictures matte finish with white background, and three (3) 2x2 pictures.
