Grateful to have been invited to the 20th anniversary celebration of Beauty Elements Ventures Inc. (BEVI), the company behind the iconic Kojie.san soap.
Congratulations to founder Ms. Jazz Burila and her hardworking team.
Their story is truly inspiring β and worth sharing.
After spending 15 years in a multinational corporation, Jazz left a stable corporate career to start a local buy-and-sell business.
While traveling between Manila and Laguna to supply fashion slippers to local markets, she came across a distinctive orange bar of soap and decided to add it to her product line.
What started as a small business soon became a remarkable success. Orders grew from a few bars to thousands.
Jazz recognized the potential of its key ingredient, kojic acid, in helping lighten dark spots and even out skin tone.
In 2006, she officially founded BEVI, which went on to pioneer the commercial use of kojic acid in the Philippine market.
Kojie.san eventually made the leap from medical clinics to supermarket shelves across the country, becoming the leading brand in the skin-lightening category.
And the journey did not stop at the Philippines.
Kojie.san began reaching international markets, officially launching in Indonesia in 2012. Its distribution has since expanded to more than 20 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and markets across the Middle East.
From a chance encounter with an orange bar of soap to a Filipino brand reaching consumers around the world.
The story of BEVI is a powerful reminder that great Filipino companies and brands can compete β and succeed β beyond our shores.
Mabuhay, BEVI! And congratulations on 20 years! π΅π
