The Department of Energy (DOE) welcomes the ₱𝟓.𝟒𝟔 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 recorded under the government’s Green Lane initiative, covering 𝟏𝟖𝟕 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐄 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 across the country. Accounting for the majority of the ₱6.36 trillion in total certified strategic investments, these projects reflect continued investor confidence in the Philippines’ growing renewable energy sector.

Beyond advancing the country’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy, these RE investments are expected to generate 𝟐𝟕𝟔,𝟒𝟔𝟗 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬, creating more opportunities for Filipinos as projects move from development toward construction and operation. The DOE continues to advance policies and programs that encourage investments and accelerate renewable energy development toward a more secure, reliable, and sustainable energy future.

📰 As Philippine Government unveils PHP 60 Billion incentive to pitch PH as EV makers’ hub, SUNSMART E.V.E. "Consistent with our clean energy drive, we have encouraged the adoption of electric vehicles. We have removed all tariffs on EVs until 2028 to bring down market prices, and government has also been mandated to prioritize electric vehicles in their refleeting plans."

The Department of Energy (DOE) continues to accelerate the country's transition to cleaner and more sustainable transportation through key initiatives highlighted in President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s 2026 State of the Nation Address.

From making electric vehicles (EVs) more affordable through tariff removal until 2028, to advancing the implementation of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), expanding the use of EVs in government fleets and public transportation, and working toward the goal of 50% EV adoption by 2040, the DOE remains committed to building a cleaner, more energy-secure, and future-ready Philippines.

JUST IN: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issues Executive Order No. 121, providing for the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Program.

Through the program, the government aims to encourage major companies to establish and manufacture electric vehicles and their components in the country, which will generate jobs for Filipinos, according to Palace press officer Claire Castro.

The government will also provide tax payment certificates as incentives to encourage companies to invest in the country.

"The EO seeks to create more jobs, attract new investments, strengthen local manufacturing, reduce the country's dependence on imported oil, and position the Philippines as a key player in the global electric vehicle supply chain," Castro says. | via Dexter Cabalza, Philippine Daily Inquirer
