On the third day of the Lead Camp, PNS Scholars showcased their learnings through their advocacy pitches, highlighting their understanding of social issues and their commitment to take action in their communities. They shared their ideas with confidence and purpose, demonstrating their growth into more self-aware and action-oriented leaders ready to serve others.

PHINMA Foundation Executive Director Mr. Ron Ranier Reyes delivered a compelling message, emphasizing that the advocacy pitches presented were not merely for compliance, but commitments that scholars should continue pursuing beyond the camp. In his closing remarks, he reminded the scholars that while Days 1 to 3 marked an important beginning, the real work starts on Day 4. He stressed that meaningful change lies in the concrete actions young people take to bring the advocacies they envision to life.

We thank the PNS alumni volunteer facilitators for designing and leading the sessions and for generously sharing their time and expertise to support the scholars throughout the program.

Through the three-day PHINMA Youth Leadership Camp, we strengthened our scholars’ sense of purpose, empathy, and love of country, and we look forward to continuing to empower them to pursue meaningful advocacies and create lasting impact in their communities.

Day 2 of the PHINMA Youth Leadership Camp 2026 focused on deepening self-awareness and turning personal growth into purposeful action, as scholars reflected on and overcame their “inner villains”.

A key highlight was the message shared by Sir Peter Perfecto, PHINMA Vice President-Public Affairs, echoing PHINMA Chairman and CEO Ramon del Rosario, Jr.: “I believe the spirit of Bayanihan, of collective action for the common good is more relevant today than ever before.” PNS Big Brother, Big Sister mentors were also present, offering guidance and encouragement to scholars throughout the sessions.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our guest speakers—Mr. Jaton Zulueta (AHA! Center), Mr. PJ Hernandez (The Traveling Salakot), Ms. Juen Quiambao (Xavier School Nuvali), Ms. Rash Caritativo (DAKILA), and Mx. AJ Villapando (PANTAY Inc.)—who led parallel breakout sessions on day 2 of the Lead Camp. Their generosity in sharing their individual leadership journey and insights from their respective advocacy fields helped scholars connect leadership with real-world impact. These learnings were carried into the Make Things Happen session, where scholars began developing and refining their personal advocacies through planning and collaboration.

PHINMA Foundation Chairman Sir Bobby Laviña also delivered an inspiring message, reminding scholars that being skilled is not the main goal, but rather, it is how these skills are developed and used in service of others. He emphasized that love of country means loving our fellow Filipinos, our families, and ourselves—and ended his message with a simple but powerful reminder: to always be kind.

The day concluded with advocacy pitch preparations and a lively socials night, where scholars showcased their creativity, confidence, and teamwork.

On May 1, 2026, we welcomed our PHINMA National Scholars for the annual PHINMA Youth Leadership Camp, centered on the theme “Hero in Me” and grounded in PHINMA’s core value of love of country.

The Lead Camp opened with PNS Alumni volunteer facilitators welcoming the scholars and introducing the Camp’s focus. PHINMA Foundation, Inc. (PFI) President, Ms. Nicole del Rosario Serafica, shared the PHINMA Group’s leadership journey and how the core values entwined with empathy drives its impact in nation-building. This was followed by an inspiring message from Mr. Ron Ranier Reyes, PFI Executive Director, who reminded scholars of the responsibility and potential of today’s youth to lead positive change in the country.

This year’s Leadership Camp sessions aimed to develop self-aware and empathetic young leaders by helping scholars understand their strengths, the realities of society, and their role in nation-building. Through guided activities and the “Choices of a Hero,” PNS Scholars from PNU, PUP, TUP, UPang, and UPD were encouraged to build confidence, overcome personal challenges, and translate their insights into meaningful action.

We wrapped up the first day of the PHINMA Youth Leadership Camp with collaborative activities that fostered engagement and self-reflection among scholars. A key highlight was the Scavenger Hunt Challenge, where participants demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity in completing assigned tasks. The day ended with a structured debrief, allowing scholars to process their experiences and recognize the impact of their actions on others.

Today, members of the PHINMA community were honored at the 2026 PHINMA Service Awards for their commitment to making lives better and creating meaningful impact in the communities they serve.

Grazieleanne Sellabe was recognized as this year's outstanding PHINMA National Scholarship Program (PNS) scholar. A magna cm laude graduate of Early Childhood Education, Grazie chose to begin her journey where she is most needed—teaching young learners in Sipalay, Negros Occidental as a Teach for the Philippines fellow, while working with fellow educators and the LGU to help address learning gaps in the community. Her path reflects a clear commitment to service, grounded in both excellence and love of country.

Under the Big Brother/Big Sister category, Kara Albert, currently Treasury Manager at PHINMA Corporation, was awarded for her eight years of dedicated mentorship. As a Big Sister, Kara has consistently gone beyond expectations—supporting her mentees with care, guidance, and a strong sense of community, while also encouraging others to take part in mentoring and giving back.

These stories represent the many individuals who choose, every day, to serve with empathy, generosity, and purpose.

We are proud to celebrate Grazie and Kara, alongside fellow PHINMA Service awardees, for showing what it truly means to make lives better.

Congratulations, Grazie and Kara! 🏆

Students of Manamoc Elementary School in Manamoc, Cuyo, Palawan recently received school materials made possible through our partnership with The Andres Soriano Foundation, Inc. For many learners in this island community, access to basic school supplies can be limited, making support like this even more meaningful.

At PHINMA, we firmly believe in the power of education to transform lives. That is why we continue to support initiatives that help young people stay in school and realize their full potential.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Andres Soriano Foundation for this meaningful partnership and to everyone who helped make this initiative possible for the children of Manamoc. A big shoutout to our PHINMA Heroes who helped make each kit extra special: PHINMA-Saint Jude College Manila students, PHINMA National Scholarship Program scholars, and PHINMA employees who volunteered their time to paint the bags and repack the learning and hygiene kits.

To the students of Manamoc, we hope these supplies support you as you continue learning and dreaming big.

The PHINMA National Scholarship (PNS) Scholars, together with their mentors, joined a Pasig City Poblacion Walking Tour as part of this year’s educational tour, anchored on PHINMA’s core value of Love of Country.

By exploring heritage sites dating back to the Spanish era and World War II during the Japanese occupation, our scholars witnessed how faith, resistance, and courage shaped the identity of the people of Pasig across generations. These historically significant spaces became open classrooms, reminding them that Love of Country grows from understanding and honoring our local history. The scholars visited the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig, Bahay na Tisa, Plaza Bonifacio, and Plaza Rizal, with the tour concluding at the Pasig City Museum.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pasig City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office for guiding the scholars throughout the walking tour.

Through experiences like this, PNS Scholars are reminded that loving our country begins with knowing its stories. May these walks through history inspire them to keep learning, remain curious, and transform appreciation for our heritage into meaningful action for nation-building. 💛
