SEC Releases Revised Draft on Sustainability Disclosures: PFRS S1 & S2 Nearing Final Adoption

Just two months after its initial exposure draft, the Securities and Exchange Commission Philippines (SEC) has released a revised Memorandum Circular seeking public feedback on the adoption of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) S1 and S2 for sustainability disclosures.

The update moves the Philippines closer to mandatory, ISSB-aligned reporting for Publicly-Listed Companies (PLCs) and Large Non-Listed Entities (LNLs), with final issuance expected before the end of 2025 and implementation starting FY 2026.
