Why are some people hesitant to succeed even when opportunities are just right under their nose? Enemies.

In my book, "Even Chairs Do Their Best: How Presence Leads to Influence," I wrote: "Interesting people don't live quiet lives; they live jealous ones. To be interesting is to be envied. The moment you claim the chair that others only dream of sitting in, don’t expect applause—expect scrutiny. Influence is a double-edged sword: it buys you a following, but it also buys you foes."

TOG 9 together with the Tactical Operations Group Reserve 9 personnel, attended the Motivational and Leadership Talk with Sgt Lloyd A Luna PAFR, with the theme "Resilient Leadership: Thriving Through Challenges and Change" at the Unit's Conference Room.

Using his latest and based on his book Even Chairs Do Their Best: How Presence Leads to influence, we identified everyone's to know what types of chair they are (if they were chairs).

This activity helps the participants determine their functional presence and what structure they support.

We thank our Commanding Officer Sharon Louie Carvajal-Montallana for this initiative and guidance and for making this program available to our PAF active and reserve personnel.

The debut of my Presence Profiles Test and lecture from my book, Even Chairs Do Their Best!

If they were chairs, what kind of chairs? And what is their function in the organization?

It became clear to the participants what their functional presence is rather than how they feel about their personality.

Without knowing your people’s functional presence, the integrity of the room collapses not because of incompetence or lack of talent or skill but because of emotional tendencies and personality biases of people.

Thank you to the management of Pampanga Premier Medical Center.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Even Chairs Do Their Best Is A Masterclass in Influence

MANILA, Philippines — Stop looking for the door and start owning the room. Lloyd A. Luna, the high-octane internationally renowned professional speaker and , has just dropped a career-altering manifesto: Even Chairs Do Their Best: How Presence Leads to Influence.

With over 20 years of experience staring down audiences from Paris to Jakarta, Luna has built a reputation on one thing: brutal, effective honesty. His latest book is no different. It’s a sharp-edged critique of our "maybe" culture, centered on a startlingly simple truth: A chair never doubts its purpose—so why do you?

The book’s subtitle, How Presence Leads to Influence, reveals the stakes. Luna argues that influence isn’t a magic trick for the elite; it is the natural byproduct of absolute, unyielding presence. If you aren’t fully in the room, you aren’t in the game.

Through the lens of his "The Chair Philosophy," Luna challenges leaders to stop providing themselves with "exits" and start providing value. Whether you’re a CEO or a new hire, this book is your diagnostic tool for cutting through the noise and finally taking your seat at the table.

Luna’s message is clear: the most powerful person in the room is the one who refuses to leave it until the job is done.

Sometimes, the problem isn't a lack of options. It’s the paralysis of having too many, and the heavy cost of choosing the wrong one.

Turning to the chair—the highly ignored, yet inarguably the greatest human invention of all time—this book presents a witty, thought-provoking playbook on turning presence into influence. It’s a practical guide on how to navigate life by learning from the one thing in the room that never has to choose to be the best.

If you’ve never thanked a chair—not once, not ever, not now—you’re about to realize why you should. Because the most unassuming piece of furniture in the boardroom, the classroom, your bedroom, or any other room has something to say without saying a single word.

It’s my first time to personally meet LTGEN ARTHUR CORDURA, our Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force today.

It was special because he handed over an award 🥇 and it happened during the 28th anniversary of PAF Air Logistics Command, Philippine Air Force.

I’ll keep in mind and heart ❤️ what you’ve told me. It’s always an honor to wear the uniform and serve with you.

MGEN Dennis Estrella PAF, yano ka sir ay pabigla-bigla ng invitation pero pag ikaw talaga, ika-cancel ko ang lakad ko kahit wala naman talaga akong lakad. 🤣

Congratulations, Sir, and to the great men and women of the Air Logistics Command. Karamgalan ko po na maging stakeholder ng inyong team.

This is what I call The Chair Philosophy: “A chair succeeds because it has no choice. A human fails because he does.”

Sometimes, the problem isn’t that you don’t have a choice. It’s that you have too many, and the fear of making the wrong one makes you hesitate to try again. But as I’ve argued in this book, you’re not a chair.
