The Philippines is intensifying its commitment to SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, aiming for universal access by 2030. Through initiatives like the Integrated Water Resource Management Plan and the "Sulub sa Barangay" program, the government is working to improve water quality and sanitation services across the nation.

Despite these efforts, challenges remain, with significant portions of the population still lacking access to improved sanitation facilities. Continued investment and community engagement are crucial to achieving these goals and ensuring safe, clean water for all Filipinos.

Sustainable management of water resources and access to safe water and sanitation are essential for unlocking economic growth and productivity, and provide significant leverage for existing investments in health and education.

From fertiliser to human waste, how a boom in nutrient pollution is suffocating the Philippines' largest lake.
