We're looking for a full-time, creative, and fun graphic designer to work with. And we think that falls into the Gen Y and Z applicants. Maybe X? No hard feelings. Plus our modest compensation probably won't suit gen Xs anyway. ;)
We are an extremely fast-paced design studio that is a fan of throwing in random ideas on a sketch pad. We speed sketch to avoid design blocks. We drum up ideas like they're nothing, and while we don't expect the new team member to have all these skills, this gives you a sense of our work environment of collaboration and team effort to pursue an idea we haven't seen before.
The position is home-based (yay? nay?) so you must have a fast internet connection (which mostly fails in this country, but let's give it a shot.), a workstation (if you're not a mac user, we don't judge, most of our applications can't run on a mac anyway ), a video cam (match it with a ring light to spice it up), and headset for communication (if you're hard of hearing, we can definitely still work together!)
The graphic designer's daily tasks include the following:
• Mood boarding for breakfast.
• Scrolling through fonts for lunch
• Sketching for merienda.
• And clocking out for dinner. Bye-bye, see you tomorrow!
You will also mix this schedule with
• Reading design briefs - you won't love this. In fact, you'll hate your creative director for giving you a design brief that says "read my mind".
• Brainstorming - Pinterest, Behance, Google images. You name it. You look for references and do it better. If you're really good, maybe you can look in the sky, read the clouds, and then draw your ideas.
• Branding - work on mostly boring and sometimes exciting logo projects. And not to mention, 1-day branding tasks? No fun.
• Meeting deadlines - dealing with projects that the client intended to finish yesterday.
• Clarifying - we really love team members who won't want to miss the finer details.
• Learning new online courses - let's expand your design knowledge with short courses. Learn, grow, and improve! Wanna learn UI design while working with us? Now's the time.
QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 2 years experience as a graphic designer
• Great display of passion in creativity and design.
• Great taste in design aesthetics.
• Experienced with online tools such as Google Suite, MS Teams.
• Adapts easily with online tools.
• Willingness to learn from our senior designers and creative directors.
• Experience with the creative direction a plus but not a requirement.
• Highly organized
• Manages time well and punctual
• Communicative
• Must have experience working on vector illustrations, social media post designs, layout, branding exercises, brainstorming, vector design manipulation, manipulation of graphic assets, infographic design, typography, packaging and print design, poster design.
To apply, please send a website link or link to a PDF of your portfolio. Please DO NOT ever send us Google drive links with MULTIPLE folders. They're a huge pet peeve. We get it that you're "organized" but that doesn't do your portfolio justice for presentation's sake. Plus it's very lazy. :)
That's all folks. I'm sure there's a lot we missed in this post like you should know what dimensions look best for Youtube thumbnails - basic information you should already know (not by heart) where to look for. :)
