⚠️ SCAM ALERT: BUSINESS AWARENESS⚠️
Attention to all businesses, particularly those handling bulk orders, high-value sales, and third-party courier deliveries.
We recently encountered a suspicious transaction involving multiple Epson printers worth ₱335,474.50.
The individuals involved initially used the initials “MM” and provided the client name “Mar Ramos.” We also communicated with another individual who introduced themselves using the name “Mel.” These names were provided to us during the transaction and may have been used as part of the scam.
The scammer provided a deposit slip for an original check deposit that had been edited to appear as a cash deposit. The edited deposit slip looked genuine and initially appeared to be a valid payment.
We noticed that the deposit slip was suspicious; we immediately took action. Fortunately, our staff had obtained the Lalamove rider’s contact details before the delivery left our premises. We contacted the rider right away, and thankfully, the rider cooperated with us, allowing us to successfully recover all the released units.
The following day, the bank confirmed that the original check had bounced because the account was already closed.
📌 IMPORTANT REMINDER:
✅ Never rely solely on a deposit slip, screenshot, or proof of payment. Fake, edited, or AI-manipulated deposit slips can look very authentic.
✅ Always verify directly with your bank that the payment is legitimate, fully credited, cleared, and available before releasing any goods.
✅ For bulk orders, high-value transactions, and third-party deliveries, always take extra precautions and independently verify the payment and the identity of the client.
Stay alert. Verify cleared payments first before releasing any goods.
