among the nations most vulnerable to climate change. Yet the urgency to respond to this risk appears largely lost in the 2022 electoral agenda.

Climate and environmental issues are often left as footnotes to equally pressing concerns, from pandemic and economic recovery to poverty alleviation and eradication of corruption.

Environmental advocates, however, have stressed the need for a “green” leader for the next six years.

The challenges require not only a leader that is knowledgeable on environmental issues but an administration that would uphold democracy and ensure public participation and good governance.

Ms. Kathlyn Kissy Sumaylo-Pearlman of InspireDev provided useful insights as to reinforcing the disaster risk reduction through pursuing gender equality. Pleased to share the summary of the Philippine Localisation Dialogue Report, which encapsulates the views and recommendations of local and international humanitarian actors. The humanitarian sector has been discussing localisation for over 25 years. The World Humanitarian Summit, the Agenda for Humanity, and the launch of the Grand Bargain in 2016 were major initiatives to reform the humanitarian system to make it fit for the future. In the last five years there has been a push for more concrete implementation of localisation commitments at
country level. This report presents key findings of the country level dialogue carried out in the Philippines between February and July 2021 and aims to serve as a localisation blueprint,
a plan of action, with concrete recommendations to be taken forward by various stakeholders.

I precorded my presentation on the baseline assessment findings last year. Main takeaway is that Renewable Energy is about systems, technology and people who will be utilizing them. Sustainability is a key element to RE as an alternative energy source for remote communities.
