At LHH, we see how coaching transforms not just leaders, but entire teams and organizations. The impact is massive because coaching isn’t about teaching skills alone, it’s about helping people move beyond labels.
The biggest misconception in coaching across generations? Treating stereotypes as facts:
• Boomers resist change.
• Gen X are independent.
• Gen Z lacks resilience.
But here’s the truth: 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚.
Coaching means staying open, curious, and teachable regardless of position, label, age, or culture.
And when Gen Z asks “𝙬𝙝𝙮,” before saying yes to a job, it’s not resistance. It’s curiosity. Instead of shutting it down, we can ask: “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙚𝙩?”
Curiosity should never be punished. It should be embraced.
Because effective coaching isn’t about managing generations, it’s about understanding people.
