𝙵𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝙱𝚎𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛 𝙲𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜

What started as a small group with 36 cooperators who shared a vision in November 2021 has now grown into a thriving cooperative community with more than 350 members — a journey built on trust, resilience, and unity.

𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙐𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙈𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙞-𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 began as a Credit Cooperative with only a few pioneering members who believed in creating better financial opportunities for port users and the community. Despite limited resources and challenges during its early years, the cooperative continued to move forward with determination and purpose.

Then came Typhoon Odette in December 2021.

Like many organizations and families in Cebu, the cooperative faced unexpected hardships that temporarily affected operations. It was a difficult time that tested the strength and perseverance of everyone involved. But instead of giving up, the cooperative used the experience as motivation to rebuild stronger than ever.

Through the dedication of its officers, staff, and loyal members, operations gradually resumed. The cooperative not only recovered — it evolved.

In just three years, Unified Port Users Cooperative successfully transitioned from a Credit Cooperative into a Multi-Purpose Cooperative on January 27, 2025, expanding its services to better serve the growing needs of its members and the community.

Last 2025, the cooperative also achieved another significant milestone as it was officially recognized as a Medium-Size Cooperative and became an official submitting entity of the Credit Information Corporation (CIC), further strengthening its credibility, compliance, and commitment to responsible financial services.

Today, with over 350 members and continuous growth within only 4–5 years, the cooperative stands as a symbol of resilience, cooperation, and progress.

Every milestone achieved reflects the trust of the members and the commitment of the cooperative to provide reliable, member-centered services.

From a few members to a growing cooperative family, the journey proves one thing:
