IEC Campaign: OVMPC Stands Strong Against Drugs

September 12, 2025 –Today, OVMPC wasn't just a workplace, it transformed into a hub of information and support as employees gathered for an anti-drug education campaign. This wasn't a mandatory meeting; it was a heartfelt gathering, reflecting OVMPC's genuine commitment to the well-being of its people.

Spearheaded by the Safety and Health Department, with the unwavering support of Resident Manager Sir Lester R. Marqueses, the event showcased the power of collaboration. The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tubajon and the Philippine National Police (PNP) joined hands , bringing expertise and a shared dedication to creating a drug-free environment.

The campaign's impact resonated deeply thanks to the passionate contributions of lecturers from the Philippine National Police, Dr. Isabel Jamito, and Sir Edwin Larida of RHU Tubajon. Their words weren't just informative; they were a call to action, empowering each individual to make informed choices and contribute to a healthier, safer community. OVMPC's initiative proves that when a company cares, and a community unites, real change is possible.

On July 1st, Oriental Vision Mining Philippines Corporation (OVMPC) turned over ₱100,000 to Barangay Malinao. This funding was allocated under Social Development and Management Program thru it's socio-cultural component to support community initiatives, specifically the "Araw ng Tubajon" celebrations and local sports programs. The contribution was divided equally, with ₱50,000 designated for the festival and ₱50,000 for sports prizes.

This contribution aligns with OVMPC's commitment to social responsibility and community development. By investing in both cultural events and athletic activities, OVMPC demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the well-being and vibrancy of Barangay Malinao. This support underscores the company's positive impact on the local community.

Today, June 28th, Oriental Vision Mining Philippines Corporation (OVMPC) in Sitio Palhi, Barangay Malinao, Tubajon, Dinagat Islands, successfully held a mental health awareness program in partnership with the Tubajon Municipal Health Unit (MHU) and OVMPC's Safety and Health Department. The program, themed "Taking care of your mental health is an act of self-love," aimed to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental well-being among employees. The initiative underscored the importance of prioritizing mental health as a crucial aspect of overall well-being.

The program's success was evident in the enthusiastic participation of OVMPC employees. Beyond the informative sessions on mental health, the event also incorporated fun and relaxing activities such as "gupit lupit" (haircuts) and manicure/pedicure services. This holistic approach ensured a positive and engaging experience, fostering a supportive environment where employees felt comfortable discussing mental health concerns and accessing available resources.

The collaborative effort between OVMPC, the MHU, and the Safety and Health Department demonstrated a strong commitment to employee well-being.
