HMO FACT CHECK: Bakit Minsan Temporarily Suspended ang Accreditation ng Isang Hospital or Facility? 🏥💙
Minsan, kapag sinabi ng hospital na “temporarily suspended” ang HMO accreditation nila, ang unang naiisip ng member:
❌ “Hindi nagbabayad ang HMO.”
❌ “Wala nang pera ang HMO.”
❌ “Ayaw magbayad ng HMO sa hospital.”
Pero hindi po ito automatic na ibig sabihin na hindi nagbabayad ang HMO.
👉 Ang temporary suspension ng accreditation ay maaaring mangyari dahil sa iba't ibang operational, contractual, billing, compliance, or accreditation concerns** between the HMO and the healthcare facility.
💡 Importanteng malaman:
Lahat ng HMO—even established and reputable HMOs—can experience temporary suspension with an accredited facility.
Maaaring dahil sa:
🔹 Contract renewal or negotiation – may ongoing discussion tungkol sa rates, terms, or renewal ng agreement.
🔹 Billing and claims reconciliation – may kailangang i-review o i-reconcile na claims, billing documents, or account balances.
🔹 Accreditation/compliance requirements – may documents, standards, or requirements na kailangang ma-comply ng facility or HMO.
🔹 Changes in rates or medical fees – nagkakaroon minsan ng negotiation regarding professional fees, hospital rates, packages, and other charges.
🔹 Administrative or system concerns – maaaring may temporary issue sa accreditation system, LOA processing, billing, or coordination.
🔹 Quality and utilization review – may mga cases na kailangan munang i-review bago maibalik ang normal accreditation.
❤️ As HMO members, ano ang dapat gawin?
Huwag agad mag-conclude na “hindi nagbabayad ang HMO.”
Instead, ask your HMO or authorized representative for clarification and check kung may alternative accredited facility available.
