Year-End Party 2025: A White Christmas Celebration at Palacio De Manila

V.Group Philippines celebrated the year end party of 2025 last December 12. Over 500 colleagues lit up Palacio De Manila for our epic Year-End Party celebrating the close of another successful year.

The evening was brimming with excitement—fun activities, laughter, and entertainment filled the venue, highlighted by a performance number from our new hires, grand raffle prizes and glamour of the best dressed colleagues.

We were honored to have Allan Falkenberg, and Reyes, Leandro Paolo and our guests from GMT headed by Tim Davey join the celebration, making the night extra special.

A key highlight of the night was the Service Milestone Awards, where we proudly recognized colleagues who have dedicated 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service - their unwavering commitment and contributions inspired everyone and reminded us of the strength of our shared journey.

Huge thanks to the Vibe Thrive team for pulling off spectacular event. Your hard work and creativity ensured that the night was truly special for everyone.

Here’s to an amazing year ahead!

We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone again next year!

Partnership Meeting between V. Manila and Cavite State University - Trece Martires Campus

V. Manila has welcomed guests from the Cavite State University – Trece Martires City Campus last August 11 for an OJT partnership meeting. The agenda for the meeting was to introduce our different departments on shore where we can provide internship opportunities for the students. This partnership encompasses all Cavite State University campuses with the goal of enhancing our shore internship programs to help provide our Manila office a robust pool of future talents for our shore based positions.

We were joined by different managers from each team, from the Finance Department to Crewing Operations. This helps to highlight the functionalities of each department and to provide our guests with insights on how these different teams help support our business. We provided our guests the opportunity to tour facilities, with the day concluding with a scrumptious luncheon prepared by our Oceanic team.

We are hopeful that this partnership will help strengthen our aim to attract future talents and to enrich our internship program for V. Manila.

V. CEO, René Kofod-Olsen, visited V. Manila office last February 21, 2025 as part of his scheduled visit for V. global offices. It was a wonderful time for our CEO to meet all 630 of our Filipino colleagues from across the business. René reiterated the importance of what our shore colleagues do and how it makes a difference to the company and for the lives of our seafarers.

René was able to have rich dialogue with our Manila leadership, colleagues, seafarers and Senior Officers, where they shared invaluable feedback towards what the company could continue doing (and even share as best practice), and what can be improved further or enhanced.

René finished his visit with a lively Town Hall, attended by all Manila colleagues, both onsite and online.

V. Manila wishes that this will be the first of many more recurring visits from René Kofod-Olsen.

The NaVigate Leadership Seminar in Manila was held from December 2nd to 4th, 2024, at Hilton Manila, with over 70 senior and junior officers from various ShipMan Fleet, as well as shore-based colleagues in attendance. The seminar provided an opportunity for both onshore and seafaring teams to discuss leadership challenges and exchange ideas on how to improve overall service delivery. It also aimed to strengthen the connection between ship and shore teams.

The seminar began with a Business Update by Mario Moretti, Managing Director of V. Ships Asia Group & Chennai, who highlighted the company’s priorities and future goals. This was followed by a Ship-Shore Relationships Workshop. The first day included sessions on Leadership at V., Self-Awareness, Cultural Awareness, and Active Listening exercise on Leadership Communication. It ended with a discussion on Situational Leadership, focusing on how leaders adjust their style to different situations.

Day 2 started with a session on Use of VMS and Shipsure, led by Andy Hailu, Operations Director of V.Ships UK. This was followed by a talk on Learning from Incidents and SIRE 2.0, by Gary Hendersen, Group Head of Continual Improvement at V. The group gathered for a Group Photo and enjoyed a sumptuous lunch and further networking. The afternoon focused on Customer Focus, Stakeholder Management, and a deep dive into PSC. The day ended with a Workshop on PSC Preparation, where participants learned from past incidents and worked together on various activities.

In the evening, attendees gathered for a Gala Dinner with their impressive attire of dresses and ties. Lively music and conversations filled the room as colleagues from different teams connected, exchanged stories, and enjoyed a delicious meal together. The evening was highlighted by a captivating traditional Filipino dance performance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines, offering attendees a unique and memorable experience.

On the final day, the seminar started with a session on Giving Effective Feedback Engagement and Motivation, followed by discussions on Performance Management and Career Development. After the morning coffee break, participants set their personal leadership goals during the Vision into Action session. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had the chance to ask questions and gain more insights from the topics covered. Andy Hailu wrapped up the event by encouraging everyone to apply the leadership strategies discussed in their roles and highlighting the role we all play in global trade.

Kudos to the Manila Crewing Operations Team, V. Leaders, and Crew Competence and Development (CCD) Team for their efforts and time in making this event a success!
