If I were on Pepsi strategy team, I would bring Pepsi Max to the table of visibility. 🥤👀
The recent The Coca-Cola conversation around faith has created something every major brand wants: attention, conversation, and organic reach.
And it makes me wonder:
Is Pepsi watching from the sidelines—or is there a smart way to enter the conversation?
If I were advising Pepsi, I wouldn't recommend simply copying Coca-Cola or turning faith into another controversy.
I would suggest finding a creative, respectful, and unexpected way to put Pepsi into the conversation.
Why?
Because when your biggest competitor is receiving enormous public attention, you have two choices:
Watch the conversation happen… or find your own reason to be part of it.
This doesn't mean Pepsi needs to attack Coca-Cola.
It doesn't even mean Pepsi needs to agree or disagree with the message.
It means finding a creative way to say:
“We're here too.”
From a marketing perspective, this could be an opportunity to bring Pepsi to the table of visibility—without sacrificing the brand's values or identity.
Of course, entering a sensitive conversation comes with risks. The challenge is turning attention into positive brand connection, not simply controversy.
So, if I were sitting in Pepsi's strategy meeting, my question would be:
How can we enter this conversation in a way that makes people talk about Pepsi—not just Coca-Cola?
What would you do if you were on Pepsi's strategy team?
👇 Enter the conversation, stay out, or create an entirely different move?
