The Department of Energy plans to require buildings with at least 20 parking slots to dedicate 5% of it to EV charging stations, in accordance with Section 17 of the Electric Vehicle Industry Act. Currently, the country has only about 1,600 charging stations, mostly in Luzon, and the government aims for 7,000 by the end of 2028.
