The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) informs the public that the SID/SRB systems 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 on 13 August 2026, resulting in the temporary nationwide suspension of regular SID/SRB processing.

Immediately following the incident, MARINA initiated corrective and security measures in coordination with the DICT and systems providers to secure the infrastructure, protect database integrity, and safely restore normal operations.

TO AVOID-FIXER: ALL NEW APPOINTMENTS IN GETTING SID/SRB, VIA eGovPH NOW — MARINA

In order to curb fixers and strengthen security in online transactions, MARINA announced that all new appointment bookings for obtaining Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) and Seafarer's Record Book (SRB) will now be through the eGovPH app.
Part of the eGovPH system is the single sign-on (SSO) feature where only one verified account is used by each user for government transactions. With this, account verification is strengthened and the possibility of fake bookings and illegal transactions of fixers is reduced.
According to MARINA, this integration will help make appointment taking of sailors and other agency clients safer, more organized, and more transparent.

PREVIOUS BOOKINGS ARE NOT AFFECTED; APPOINTMENTS REMAIN VALID

Meanwhile, MARINA made it clear that the new policy does not affect those who have already booked using the old Online Appointment System or OAS. Their previous appointments will remain valid and they won't need to re-register with eGovPH for it.
The agency also reminded the public to refrain from providing personal information to unauthorized individuals or fixers.

KNOW: How to use the eGovPH App for SRB and SID appointment?
Starting Wednesday, 13 May 2026, all new appointments for Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) and Seafarer’S Record Book (SRB) will now go through the eGovPH App. This is to make online transactions more transparent, efficient and avoid fixers.
⚠️ Reminder: Previous bookings are not affected. Your appointment made on the Online Appointment System or OAS website will remain valid.
Here are 7 easy steps for your appointment:
1. Download the eGovPH app now on Google Play, App Store, or AppGallery. For more details about the app, visit https://e.gov.ph/
2. Create an account.
3. Verify your account.
4. Search MARINA in the list of NGAs. Search MARINA OAS.
5. Choose an appointment detail.
6. Confirm and make a payment.
7. Go to MARINA Office or Processing Centers (1) one hour before the scheduled appointment or exactly at the scheduled appointment time.
✅ If you have an appointment before May 13th, it's still valid! You don't have to re-register.
