When managing social media pages, one key metric we should look at is GROWTH— whether, in followers, likes, engagement, or views, you need to develop a strategy to make your social media game stand out or else, you’re wasting time to build your presence in the most widely used platform to connect with your potential market/ audience.
Read on this post, as it may help you unlock how to grow your social media presence. Don’t forget to pour in some dedication, and you can achieve great results.
1. Identify, what is/ are your social media goal/s?
- You created your page, optimized it (make sure you’ve done this), posted eye-catching content. Then, what’s next? Be clear why you wanted to be visible on social media, you don’t what to be there and not knowing what are your goals for the month, quarter, or year. Of course, you need to prepare strategies for the goals you want to set up. Remember, SMART approach? (This is also the reason why you need a for your business)
2. Know and understand your Target Audience
- Who you want to follow you? Or like your page? You want to engage with whom? Knowing your audience makes it clear for you to manage what content you want them to connect with you or your business. Understanding them elevates your engagement and loyalty potential to your brand. Of course, you don’t want to lure spammy followers or dummy accounts, right?
3. Publish Valuable Content
- So you have your target audience following you already, what’s in it for them? Give your audience the reasons why they have to connect with your brand until the end. Don’t forget to incorporate your brand identity when crafting content and make sure to maximize different forms so you can explore and evaluate which works for you. Keep in mind, consistency is key.
4. Utilize new features and adverts
- Use GIFs, stories, polls, paid ads, or other new features released by the social media platform. Don’t sleep on it! Use it to your advantage, with the right content, optimized keywords, and hashtags, it increases discoverability.
5. Engage, engage, and engage!
- This is golden. While chasing growth for your social media profile, it is easy for you to get caught up in the middle of it all and lose sight of the main reason for being on social media. You are there to build an audience and engage with them. If you don’t engage your audience, they will get bored quickly and move on. Social media users love it when brands interact with them. With more interactions, you will retain your existing audience and attract new ones. Run organic promos, giveaways, or contests, if you can! Nobody likes an “engagement beggar” on social media. Asking for retweets, comments, likes, subscribe, etc. on your social media posts may look amateurish.
6. Put social proof to good use
- How many times have you had to check out a brand because a social media user mentioned them in a positive light? I’m also doing this. That is the power of social proof at work. If User A thinks a brand is good at what they do, others in her immediate social circle will want to see what the brand is about. Gather all positive comments about your brand and use them regularly across your social campaigns. Though, happy customers generally won’t go out of their way to give a review, encourage all customers to leave an honest review of your products or services. This way you will have more positive comments to use as social proof and also work on any negatives that have been highlighted. The result of this approach is that you will attract more social media users that will not be on the defensive when reading your brand message.
There you go! Try these and let me know how well it goes. I’d love to help your social media presence grow!
