viber same number.
1.0 PURPOSE
Site inspection was conducted for a walk-in client for Water Heater
installation. Upon checking, there was NO AVAILABLE SLOT in the existing
Panel Board.
Client was advised to conduct electrical check-up first:
1. Load Schedule
2. Full Load Test
3. Evaluation & Recommendations
2.0 FINDINGS
2.1 CRITICAL: DOUBLE TAPPING AT MAIN SERVICE
Location: Main Meralco Service Side
Finding: 2.5HP Aircon is directly tapped at the main line.
Issue: Even with Main TQC Breaker OFF, the Aircon remains ENERGIZED.
Remark: Improper and unsafe installation. Bypasses main protection.
2.2 PANEL BOARD CAPACITY
Finding: No available space for additional breaker for Water Heater.
2.3 FULL LOAD TEST RESULT
After correction of double tapping, full load test was conducted.
Result: 42 AMPERES total load.
2.4 CRITICAL: WIRE & BREAKER MISMATCH
Feeder Wire: #8.0 AWG
Main Breaker: 60A 2-Pole
Remark: #8.0 AWG is rated for 40A-50A only. Using 60A breaker is
unsafe and can cause wire overheating and fire.
2.5 CRITICAL: IMPROPER BRANCH CIRCUIT
Finding: 30A breakers used in branches.
Issue: Continuous Load and Special Purpose Outlet for Heating Element
are combined in one circuit.
Remark: Heating loads must have dedicated circuit. 30A is too high
for branch wiring.
3.0 HAZARD WARNING
âš ELECTRICAL SHOCK & FIRE HAZARD due to double tapping.
âš OVERHEATING & FIRE HAZARD due to undersized wire with oversized breaker.
âš CIRCUIT OVERLOAD due to combined heating and continuous loads.
4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Upgrade panel board or add sub-panel for additional circuits.
2. Remove double tapping. All loads must pass through Main Breaker.
3. Upgrade feeder wire to #6.0 AWG THHN to match 60A breaker,
OR downgrade breaker to 40A to match #8.0 wire.
4. Provide dedicated circuit for Water Heater and other heating loads.
5. Prepare proper Load Schedule per Philippine Electrical Code.
5.0 CONCLUSION
Water Heater installation is ON HOLD until all electrical hazards are
corrected. Immediate action is recommended.
