Get your copies..Alcuaz is a Philippine national artist and our studio has indeed restored one, we are currently enjoying the book and looking at images of some artworks in private collections never seen before!

UBE JUST LEVELED UP🤩

Researchers from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), through the Institute of Crop Science (ICropS) of the College of Agriculture and Food Science, in collaboration with the Philippine Genome Center for Agriculture, have launched a project aimed at improving Philippine ube through modern breeding and genomic tools.

The initiative focuses on identifying and developing superior yam varieties with improved yield, higher dry matter content, and stronger resistance to pests and diseases. It also targets enhanced levels of anthocyanins and antioxidants, the natural compounds responsible for ube’s characteristic purple color and nutritional value.

Alongside variety development, the project also includes the propagation and multiplication of selected elite planting materials to help ensure wider access for farmers and strengthen local production systems.

The research builds on ongoing efforts in crop improvement and agricultural genomics at UPLB, which continue to support the development of more resilient and productive Philippine root crops.

THE 3-hectare Kaway’an EcoPark, located in Sabella Village, General Trias, Cavite, earned the distinction of being named as the sole Philippine destination to be included in TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places of 2026.
