UPRT: Preparing the Next Generation of Pilots for the Unexpected
In modern aviation, being a competent pilot is not only about mastering normal flight operations it is also about being prepared to recognize, prevent, and recover from unexpected flight situations.
Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) plays an increasingly important role in modern flight training. It helps trainee pilots develop the knowledge, skills, situational awareness, and decision-making capabilities required to recognize developing upsets, apply appropriate recovery techniques, and regain safe control of the aircraft.
For aspiring professional pilots, UPRT provides valuable exposure to situations involving unusual attitudes, excessive pitch or bank, energy management challenges, and other potential upset scenarios in a structured training environment.
π« From fundamental flight handling to advanced airmanship, UPRT strengthens the foundation for safer and more confident flight operations.
