ON THE POSTPONEMENT OF BARANGAY AND SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN ELECTIONS (BSKE)
The BSKE is more than an electoral schedule. It is a mechanism through which communities choose who will represent them, while giving new leaders the opportunity to serve. Delaying these elections also delays the opportunity for voters to exercise that choice.
The Political Science Forum calls for elections that remain regular, timely, and responsive to the people’s right to participate in local governance.
The people should not have to wait longer to have a say in who leads them.
