Proud to share the PSME South Harbor (PCG) Chapter's successful participation in the 72nd PSME National Convention and the Philippine Machinery Exhibition! on 17-19 October 2024 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

Led by our dedicated Chapter President and members, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) made its mark by showcasing a detailed miniature display of PCG assets, highlighting our commitment to fulfilling the nation's maritime mandates.

A significant part of this event was the fruitful communication and engagement between PSME South Harbor (PCG), PSME National Board of Trustees, PSME Chapters, future Mechanical Engineers and various companies that share the same passion and enthusiasm in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Worth mentioning, this significant gathering shall aim future collaborations to ensure the continued readiness and effectiveness of the Philippine Coast Guard in serving the country.

LOOK: A warm welcome from Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG was received by the crew of BRP TERESA MAGBANUA (MRRV-9701) after completing its five-month maritime safety and security mission at Sabina Shoal, West Philippine Sea.

Worth mentioning, one of its crew officer and standout member of the PSME-South Harbor (PCG) Chapter, Engr. REENA E GALOPO. Her remarkable efforts, along with her team have been pivotal in unwavering commitment to safeguarding our territorial waters.

Witness the power of unity and compassion as we joined forces with the PCG San Juan Sub-Station, PSME-South Harbor (PCG) Chapter Officers, and the San Juan Local Government Unit to support the victims of Typhoon Carina. 💪

At Brgy. Batis Hall in San Juan City, we assisted on the distribution 200 food and essential packs, bringing a glimmer of hope and relief to those in need. Special thanks to Apex Plastic Piping Supply and Services Inc. for their generous support which significantly contributed in the success of the relief operation.

LOOK: On July 31, 2024, the Philippine Coast Guard Fleet and PSME-South Harbor (PCG) Chapter Officers participated in a tree planting event at La Mesa Eco Park. A total of 100 Narra trees were planted in the ecopark aimed to enhance local biodiversity and promoting a healthier ecosystem.

This initiative reflects our shared commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Coast Guard Fleet (CGFLEET), in collaboration with the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Inc. (PSME), recently organized a successful Officer’s Bearer Course, Chartering of the PSME-South Harbor (PCG) Chapter, and Induction Program for the said chapter President, CG CAPT GLEN B DARAUG and PSME -South Harbor (PCG) Chapter Officers aboard the BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702) at Pier 13, South Harbor, Port Area, Manila on April 22, 2024.

Present in the said event, the Keynote Speaker, CG RADM EDGAR L YBAÑEZ, Commander, Coast Guard Fleet, the Inducting Officer, Engr. Jeremy T. Aguinea, 2024 PSME National President, PSME together with the Mechanical Engineers of the PCG, PSME Board of Directors, PSME National Secretariat and Officers from various PSME Chapters.

The Chartering Ceremony and Induction Program signify a pivotal moment in the ongoing partnership between PCG Mechanical Engineers and PSME. This event, outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in Pasay City on October 22, 2023, solidifies their shared dedication to fostering mutual collaboration and advancing maritime operation development. Central to this commitment is the promotion of maritime engineering education and professional standards, reflecting PSME's character of excellence, innovation, and community collaboration within the maritime engineering sphere.

Moreover, CGFLEET has actively supported the establishment of the PSME South Harbor (PCG) Chapter, showcasing a joint commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships and achieving common objectives. Both PSME and CGFLEET remain steadfast in exploring additional avenues for collaboration and synergy, aiming to fortify their partnership further.
