Another big-time fuel price hike is expected next week, according to an oil industry source.

Diesel to increase by P4.20 to P4.50 per liter
Gasoline to increase by P1.40 to P1.70 per liter

Sought for comment, DOE-Oil Industry Management Bureau Director Rino Abad said the following are the factors for the projected oil price hike:
- Summer time in northern hemisphere countries from June to Sept.
- Easing of lockdown in China
- EU ban on Russian oil imports

“However there is an emerging report that China is going back again to lockdown which can offset this increasing trend or possibly roll back after next week,” Abad said.
