On October 7, 2026, the CMU-ATBI Project Team visited Dr. Cecilia O. Bucayong, owner of Sci-App Fabricated Metals Manufacturing, at the 3D Vector Apparatus Showroom Office for a mentoring session focused on strengthening the business aspects of Experience Science.

The discussion centered on reviewing and refining its business model, clarifying its value proposition, identifying target customers and potential market segments, and exploring strategies to improve market positioning and revenue generation.

The team also discussed opportunities to strengthen promotional efforts, establish strategic partnerships, and identify potential avenues for business expansion.

The mentoring session provided guidance on aligning the product’s scientific and educational value with market needs, with the goal of improving its commercial viability and supporting its long-term sustainability and growth.

On October 13, 2026, the CMU-ATBI continued its series of capacity-building trainings for the DA KITA10 TBI Incubatees at the NMACLRC TBI Conference Office in Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The session focused on Financial Management, facilitated by Dr. Sheila C. Poonon, who guided the incubatees in understanding essential financial principles and practices for building and sustaining a successful business.

The training covered the following key topics:

📌 Bookkeeping
📌 Budgeting
📌 Financial Projections
📌 Cost Control
📌 Capital Structure

🤝 Strengthening Collaboration for Innovation and Science Education

On September 18, 2026, the CMU Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (CMU-ATBI) convened a collaborative meeting at the 3D Vector Apparatus Showroom Office to explore the development of a project proposal for the 3D Vector Apparatus and its potential submission for DOST funding support.

The meeting brought together Dr. Sheila C. Poonon, CMU-ATBI personnel, Dr. Gamaliela A. Dumancas, Director of the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (OIPTBM), Dr. Cecilia O. Bucayong, owner of Sci-App Fabricated Metals Manufacturing, and Dr. Ellen A. Azuelo, Education Program Supervisor - Science of DepEd Bukidnon.

Discussions centered on identifying the potential applications and beneficiaries of the 3D Vector Apparatus, while exploring opportunities to align the proposed project with appropriate DOST funding programs. The initiative aims to contribute to innovation, technology development, and the advancement of science education, particularly through the development and application of locally relevant technologies.

The activity reflects the commitment of CMU-ATBI and its partners to foster collaboration, transform innovative ideas into viable projects, and create technologies that can generate meaningful impact in communities and the education sector.

DAY 3: Organizational Management

On September 15, 2026, the Central Mindanao University–Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (CMU-ATBI) continued its series of training sessions for the DA KITA10 TBI Incubatees at the TBI Conference Room, NMACLRC, Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The third-day session focused on Organizational Management, facilitated by Dr. Sheila C. Poonon. The session provided the incubatees with practical knowledge on building and managing an effective organization as they develop and grow their startups.

On September 3, 2026, the Central Mindanao University–Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (CMU-ATBI), in partnership with the City Agriculture Office of Valencia City, Bukidnon, conducted a training session as part of its series of capacity-building activities for the beneficiaries of the project “Tank-Based Hito Production Technology.”

Dr. Sheila C. Poonon was invited as the Resource Speaker for Module 1: “Mindset to Market Opportunities: Strengthening Agripreneurship,” conducted at the City Agriculture Office New Building, Barangay Pinatilan, Valencia City, Bukidnon. The training was attended by members of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and the Women’s Organization Federation.

The session focused on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding farmers as agripreneurs, strengthening organizational and teamwork capabilities, and identifying potential agribusiness opportunities that can support the beneficiaries in transforming their hito production activities into sustainable livelihood and enterprise opportunities.

Through this collaboration, CMU-ATBI continues to contribute its expertise in technology business incubation and agripreneurship development, helping farmers and community organizations maximize the potential of innovative agricultural technologies and build sustainable agribusinesses.
