This is an excerpt from the message of MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA during the opening ceremony of Marawi's Best Trade Fair 2026 held this morning, August 20, 2026, where he emphasized that local entrepreneurs are given more than just a marketplace—they are provided a vital platform to showcase their craft, prove the value of local ingenuity, and drive inclusive economic development.

​As President Tago highlighted in his message of continuity and progress under the theme: “MSU @ 65: Kultura, Kahusayan, at Kaunlaran tungo sa isang Inklusibong Pamantasan,” let us commit to building a resilient, innovative economy that remains deeply rooted in our Meranaw heritage. He reminded everyone that as we continue the journey of rebuilding and reimagining Marawi, this event stands to inspire new partnerships, open new opportunities, and encourage our people to dream bigger by bringing our rich culture and traditions to the global stage.

𝐓𝐈𝐂-𝐄𝐓𝐏𝐎 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Entrepreneurship Training and Promotion Office of the Technology and Innovation Center (TIC) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development (OVCRED), participated in the MSME Summit 2026 organized by Go Negosyo held on July 18, 2026, at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The summit gathered entrepreneurs, startup founders, business leaders, government agencies, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and promote innovation-driven entrepreneurship as a catalyst for inclusive economic growth.

The MSME Summit 2026 served as a premier venue for knowledge exchange, business networking, and mentorship, providing participants with valuable opportunities to learn from industry experts and successful entrepreneurs. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, mentoring sessions, and success stories, the event underscored the vital role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in driving economic development and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities across the country.

Throughout the summit, discussions focused on strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities through digital transformation, innovation, access to financing, marketing strategies, customer engagement, and sustainable business practices. Participants also engaged in mentoring sessions with business experts, gaining practical insights on enterprise development, branding, operations management, and business expansion.

The participation of government agencies and private sector organizations further highlighted the importance of collaboration in providing MSMEs with access to capacity-building programs, financing opportunities, digitalization initiatives, and market linkages. These initiatives continue to empower entrepreneurs to become more competitive, resilient, and responsive to the evolving demands of the business landscape.

For TIC-ETPO, participation in the summit reaffirmed the University’s commitment to advancing entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology-driven enterprise development within the University and the communities it serves. The knowledge and best practices gained from the event will strengthen future programs aimed at empowering students, researchers, faculty members, aspiring entrepreneurs, and local MSMEs through education, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives.

Looking ahead, the office envisions fostering stronger partnerships with national agencies, the Bangsamoro Government, local government units, and other stakeholders to bring similar entrepreneurship initiatives to Lanao. Such collaborations have the potential to expand opportunities for local enterprises, encourage innovation, strengthen business networks, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development in the Bangsamoro region.

Headed by its chief 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐆. 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐬, the Entrepreneurship Training and Promotion Office of the MSU Technology and Innovation Center, under the MSU Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research, Extension, & Development successfully concluded the 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭-𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 on May 20, 2026, at Room 101, Empire Building, CBAA, in celebration of 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. The event carried the theme, “Mindanao Moves: Scoring Innovation through IP and Athletic Excellence.” It highlighted innovation, creativity, and collaboration among student participants from various colleges, showcasing technology-driven ideas designed to enhance sports and wellness.

The success of the event was made possible through the support of 𝐃𝐢𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐚 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐀. 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐧-𝐀𝐥𝐢, Director of the Technology and Innovation Center; 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐂. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐚, Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development; and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚-𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐌. 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. It was further strengthened by the invaluable leadership of 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐏.𝐃. 𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐨, President of the MSU System, whose approval of
the program and steadfast commitment to advancing innovation greatly contributed to its successful realization.

A distinguished panel of judges was invited to evaluate the participants’ sport-technology concepts and presentations. The panel included 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐀. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐨, 𝐏𝐡.𝐃., Vice President for Research and Extension of the MSU System; 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐳 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐬𝐚𝐫, Technical Assistant of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office - Lanao del Sur; and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐁. 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡, 𝐌𝐏𝐀, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of Ministry of Trade Investments and Tourism - Lanao Del Sur.

Four teams qualified out of 11 that registered in the competition, each presenting innovative, technology-driven solutions in sports:

● 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐰 (Shalimar D. Abdulkhair) – CBAA
● 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 (Moh’d Naseer Amenodin, Binnor Haron, Zuhayr M. Baraguir) – CBAA x CHTM

To encourage broader participation, both online and onsite audiences were invited to vote for the Fan Favorite Awards. Based on audience votes, 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐰 placed 𝟑𝐫𝐝, 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 secured 𝟐𝐧𝐝, and 𝐌𝐒𝐔 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 emerged as 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞.

In recognition of excellence in innovation, 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐰 also received the Best IP Strategy Award for demonstrating a strong intellectual property approach and an innovative concept. The highlight of the competition was the declaration of 𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐀-𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧, bringing pride to the CBAA x CSSH collaboration.

The TIC-ETPO likewise extends its sincere gratitude to the Marketing Department, under the leadership of 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐫 𝐃. 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐁𝐀, and 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐂. 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦, 𝐂𝐏𝐀, for generously providing the venue and extending their support for the event. Appreciation is also extended to the 𝐂𝐁𝐀𝐀 - 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 for their valuable assistance during the activity, as well as to the Audio-Visual Center, led by 𝐃𝐢𝐫. 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐌. 𝐅𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐝, 𝐌𝐏𝐀, and ICTC 𝐃𝐢𝐫. 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐎. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐧, for ensuring the smooth conduct of the event and stable internet connectivity.

The Sport-Tech Pitching Competition served as a platform for students to demonstrate innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial thinking, reinforcing the university’s commitment to advancing technology-driven solutions and research-oriented initiatives.
